TOGAF 9 Certification Levels

Level Tag Purpose

1 TOGAF 9 Foundation

To provide validation that the candidate has gained knowledge of the terminology and basic concepts of TOGAF 9 and understands the core principles of Enterprise Architecture and TOGAF

2 TOGAF 9 Certified

To provide validation that in addition to knowledge and comprehension, the candidate is able to analyze and apply knowledge of TOGAF

Level 2 is a superset of Level 1


Level 1 – TOGAF 9 Foundation Target Audience

• Individuals requiring a basic understanding of TOGAF 9 • Professionals working in roles associated with an

architecture project such as those responsible for planning, execution, development, delivery and operation

• Architects looking for a first introduction to TOGAF 9• Architects who want to achieve Level 2 certification in a

stepwise approach.


Level 2 – TOGAF 9 Certified Target Audience

• Individuals requiring a deeper understanding of TOGAF 9;• Professionals working in an organization where TOGAF 9

has been adopted and who need to participate in architecture projects and initiatives;

• Architects who will be responsible for developing architecture artifacts;

Combined Part 1 and 2 Examination

• Each section must be passed in order to obtain an overall pass mark

• If you fail a section then no certification is awarded, however you only need retake the Examination(s) corresponding to the failed section(s)

• You must wait one month before a retake


Combined Part 1 and 2 Examination


Certification

• Within 6 working days of receipt of the exam results you will receive an email from The Open Group and be invited to login to complete your certification

• You may download and print your certificate• You can adjust your register entry to make it public (the

default is to be confidential)• Further information on the process for completing

certification is available from The Open Group web site at https://www.opengroup.org/togaf9/cert/docs/complete.html
