TheVALOCordlesscuringlightusesacustom,multi-wavelength(395-480nm)LightEmittingDiode(LED)forproducing the high intensity light capable of polymerizing all light cure dental materials. This intensity will also penetrateporcelainandiscapableofcuringunderlyingresincementssimilartoaqualityhalogenlight.

The VALO Cordless curing light uses Ultradent VALO rechargeable batteries and battery charger.

TheVALOCordlesscuringlightalwaysstoresitslastusedtimingintervalineachmodeandwilldefaultbacktothat timing interval whenever the modes are changed or if the batteries are removed.

SLEEP MODE: TheVALOCordlesscuringlightwillgointoPOWERSAVEmodeafter30secondsofinactivity,as

indicatedbyaslowflashingofthemode/statuslight.Pickinguportouchingtheunitwillwake-upVALOCordlessand automatically return it to the last setting used.

WARNING: StorageandTravel:IfstoringtheVALOCordlessforperiodslongerthan2weeks,orpackingitfortravel,alwaysremovethebatteries.Ifbatteriesareleftintheunitforlongperiodsoftimewithoutrechargingtheymay become nonfunctional or un-chargeable.

LOW BATTERIES: The VALO Cordless signals the user that it is time to change the batteries when the Low BatteryIndicatorLightisflashingred.Ifthebatterychargebecomestoolow,anaudible3beepwarningsoundwilloccur and the VALO will not allow further operation until batteries recover or new batteries are inserted.

Charging Time and Battery Life: BatterylifeintheVALOCordlessisdependentontheMODE,TIMEinterval,batterytype,amountofuse,andLEDefficiency.Ingeneral,rechargeblebatteriesshouldlast1-2weeks. Non-rechargeablebatteriesmaylast2-3timeslonger.• Recommended Recharge Interval: Toavoidlowbatterywarningsorshutoffduringaprocedure,recharge

batteriesevery1–2weeks.• ExtraBatteries: ToavoidpossibleVALOCordlessdowntime,keepanextrasetofnon-rechargeablebatteries

onhandincasebatteriesgetlostorhavenotbeencharged.Seelistofauthorizedbatteries.Youcanalsoorderextra rechargeable batteries as needed.

Battery Life Expectancy: RechargeableLithiumIronPhosphatebatteriescanberechargedapproximately1000to2000timesbeforewearingout.However,ineverydayuse,batteriesmaybedropped,scratched,scuffed,lostandmisplaced.Keepasparesetofnon-rechargeableCR123batteriesavailable(VALOCordlesscomeswith4

rechargeable batteries).

Note: If you are moving the light from operatory to operatory and the light does not go to sleep then the battery life may be affected. Replace more often with rechargeable batteries.

Maintenance and Cleaning

TheVALOCordlesscuringlightisasealedunitwithasapphire-likehardsurfaceandascratchresistantglasslens.Aftereachuse,moistenagauzeorsoftclothwithananti-microbialsurfacedisinfectantandwipethesurfaceand lens.

Periodicallycheckthelensforcureddentalresins.Ifnecessary,useanon-diamonddentalinstrumenttocarefullyremove any adhered resin.

Thebarriersleevepreventscrosscontaminationandhelpskeepdentalcompositematerialfromadheringtothesurface of the lens and wand body.

Lightmetersdiffergreatlyandaredesignedforspecificlightguidetipsandlenses.UltradentrecommendscheckingVALOCordlessinStandardPowermode.NOTE:thetruenumericoutputwillbeskewedduetheinaccuracyofcommonlightmetersandthecustomLEDpackVALOCordlessuses.

3. Checkthatfreshbatteriesarecorrectlyinsertedinto the unit.

4. If red and yellow Warning LEDs are flashing this means the VALO Cordless has reached its internal temperature safety limit. Allow the VALO Cordless tocooldownfor10minutesoruseacoolmoisttoweltocooltheunitdownquickly.

5. IfredWarningLEDflashesandbeepscontinuously,callUltradentCustomerServiceforrepair.

Light does not stay on for desired time 1. CheckthattheunitissettodesiredMode.2. ChecktheLowBatteryIndicatorforbatterycharge

status.3. Checkthatfreshbatteriesareproperlyinserted

into the unit.

Light is not curing resins properly 1. Checklensforresidualcuredresins/composites(see“MaintenanceandCleaning”).

Batterieswillnotcharge 1. Makesurebatteriesareinsertedintothechargerinthe correct orientation and allow batteries to charge for 1 hour.

2. If red LEDs on the charger do not change to green,callUltradentCustomerServicetoorderreplacementbatteriesand/orcharger.

3. If neither green nor red LEDs on the charger are visible,callUltradentCustomerServicetoorderorreplacechargerand/orACadapter.
