lds has been producing a traditionof fine quality musical instruments for morethan six decades. From a modest start as aproducer of handcrafted, professionalquality instruments, F. E. Olds & Son hasgrown over the years to become a leader inthe industry.

ln their efforts to satisfy the discriminatingperformer, the Olds Company continues toimprove and refine their complete line ofband instruments. Olds was first to draw itsown slide tubing - first to use an exception-ally strong, light two-piece brace - first touse nickel-silver tubing for slides and first todevelop a fluted trombone slide to reducefriction. The special rotary valve self-oilingfeature on its French horns and the use ofspecial alloys in bell sections to producedifferent timbres were also developed by Olds.And, let's not forget that Olds led the industryin equipping student cornets with professionaltop-sprung valves.
