• The “solar blind” filter in the camera blocks the light (solar spectrum) from the sun, allowing the camera to work in daytime.

• Part of the corona spectrum overlaps with the solar spectrum and is blocked by the “solar blind filter”

• In night/indoor conditions it is beneficial to remove the solar blind filter and allow the blocked part of the corona spectrum to also reach the detector.

• The extra energy in this part of the spectrum increases the observed energy from a discharge by 3 times.

• The CoroCAM 504 features a (patented) motorized filter removal system.

• The CoroCAM 6D can be fitted with a menu selected motorized filter removal system – becoming the CoroCAM 6D NV variant.
