To encourage the next generation of researchers in SADS conditions, the SuddenArrhythmia Death Syndromes (SADS) Foundation is announcing its annual SADSFoundation Courts K. Cleveland Jr. Young Investigator Awards in CardiacChannelopathy Research.

As in past years, there will be a BASIC SCIENCE award and aTRANSLATIONAL/CLINICAL SCIENCE award given. Both awards will beadministered by the Pediatric and Congenital EP Society (PACES). As the PACESannual dinner meeting has been cancelled due to COVID-19, an alternatepresentation will be considered.

The last week of February is Rare Disease Week, which leads up to Rare DiseaseDay on the last day of February each year. This year, one of our own rare diseaseadvocates, Samantha Wilder, attended Rare Disease Week on Capitol Hill inWashington, D.C. Here, patients and advocates alike attended events thatincluded caucus briefings, rare disease documentary screenings, lobbying, andmeeting with members of the House and Senate to advocate for improvedpolicies. Huge thanks to everyone who contributed during Rare Disease Week,whether from Capitol Hill or your own community!
