Myocardial infarction – heart attack due to lack of oxygen
Atherosclerosis – lipid build up due to diet, causing narrowing of arteries, treated with angioplasty
Angina pectoris – chest pain, warning sign of myocardial infarction
Coronary bypass surgery, vessels from other areas of body are used to bypass clogged arteries.
Heart Failure – inability to pump enough bloodCardiomyopathy – disease of myocardial tissue
Cor pulmonale – overload Right side of heart due to pulmonary obstruction
Congestive heart failure – left sided heart failure – can not pump blood effectively, retains fluid
