Thank you for your interest in Sponsoring the SPACE.

Our Corporate Sponsorship package is designed to provide you with an introduction to the SPACE: who we are, and what we do for our rural community.

Please find enclosed our Fact Sheet with brief facts about the SPACE such as: community demographics and some of our upcoming events for the season. Visit our new website at sunriseperformingarts.cafor more information.

Our Performer's Spotlight piece highlights our most valuable asset...the performers. The SPACE is so proud of our performers, we would have loved to include 20 pages of Performer's Spotlights. But hopefully, this one-pager provides a glimpse of how participating in performing arts at the SPACE impacts people's lives. It truly makes a lifelong impression.

We have also included a sample Media Release pertaining to the Canadian Revenue Agency granting us Charitable Status back in February of 2013. Being recognized as a Charity was a monumental event for he SPACE. It reinforced our long-held belief in providing our rural community with performing arts opportunities in a not-for-profit format. The media release also showcases our ability to write effective media relations materials . We believe sponsorship is a partnership, and our public relations skills will be used to their fullest to make it a lasting relationship.

You can learn more about the SPACE in the History we have provided. We are proud of our history as it reflects our unwavering belief in community and commitment to the performing arts.

On June 24, 2013 Community Futures Winnipeg River presented the SPACE with the 2012-13 Business of the Year Award. After many years of hard work and dedication in establishing and developing the SPACE, this award not only recognizes the progress we've made and the challenges we've overcome: it gives us renewed energy for our future.

Lastly, we have enclosed our Sponsorship Levels. We have tried to anticipate our Sponsor's needs with the outlined benefits. However, we are not limiting our sponsorship partnerships with these levels, we will tailor the benefits to meet your needs whenever possible.

We realize sponsorship is an important decision and will be more than willing to provide you with any other information you require in making that decision.

Please contact the SPACE with any questions, concerns or requests for additional information.

Thank you!

Sincerely,

the SPACE

DANCE ACT PERFORM

TheSPACE is a not-for profit Charitable organization that brings the world of performing arts to rural children through a variety of classes including many styles of dance, theatre, and much more.

Located in Oakbank, Manitoba, The SPACE services the RM of Springfield: Population: 14,069; Land Area: 1,100km2. Agriculture is the dominant land use accounting for 60.8%.

Since inception, The SPACE has been pre-dominantly self-funded (up to 95% in some years). This shows the dedication of its members, the responsibility of its management, and the vitality of our market.

The SPACE has worked diligently to purchase the building and property it has called home over the last decade. Just last year this goal was achieved. The SPACE is located on Main Street Oakbank, Springfield's largest and fastest growing town.

The SPACE is fuelled by dedicated volunteers under the artistic vision of executive director Wendy Bobby. Many of the SPACE's teachers are mature students who have gone through the mentorship program. Together, our mission is to bring performing arts opportunities to people living in rural areas that would never have them otherwise.

MEDIA RELEASE

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE JUNE 19, 2013

THE SPACE GRANTED CHARITABLE STATUS

OAKBANK-Sunrise Performing Arts Centre of Excellence Inc. (The SPACE) is now a recognized Canadian Charity.

"This is a monumental day for the SPACE." says Executive Director Wendy Bobby, " It's the result of years of hard work and dedicated volunteers. The charitable status gives The SPACE formal recognition in our mission to provide performing arts opportunities to people in our rural community.

While the SPACE has long been a not-for-profit organization, being a registered Canadian Charity will allow donation receipts to be issued to sponsors and supporters.

"Being able to recognize our financial supporters with tax receipts will make a big difference in our ability to raise funds which makes the world of difference for a not-for-profit like the SPACE." says Bobby, "We've come a long way with the support of our members, the community, local businesses and the RM of Springfield. With the purchase of the building we now have a space of our own and we would like to keep building on that."

And space is definitely needed with the growing demand for performing arts in the RM of Springfield. From dance, to theatre, to clowning, to magic - performing arts classes are in high demand.

"I just love dancing," says 6 -year-old Julia Van Ryssel, who has been dancing at the SPACE since she was three. "This year I'm doing ballet, tap, jazz, and even hip hop."

Over the years, the SPACE, has developed its programs to reflect the needs of the community it serves. Cook's Creek Dance Academy, Springfield Theatre Company, and Springfield Performing Programs offer season-long classes, 8-10 week classes, summer day camps, and workshops to people of all ability and economic background.

"We try to keep up with what the community wants, and the variety of programs we offer is quite extensive," says Bobby, "We have created a new brochure and are launching a new website this fallto provide all the information on the different services we offer."

DANCE ACT PERFORM

What does it mean to be a SPACE Sponsor?

The SPACE is a rural-based charity that is dedicated to providing performing arts opportunities of the highest standard to people in rural communities who wouldn't otherwise have those exposures. But it's not just about learning to dance or act or sing: the SPACE is a place for self-discovery. It's a place where young people learn to turn dreams into attainable goals; a place where the feelings and energy within oneself can be expressed through movement and voice and other performing arts. Supporting the SPACE shows that you invest back into the rural community you do business in. It shows that you value the lifelong impact that participating in performing arts has on people of all ages.
