1. Nag tibba trek Mussoorie, Uttarakhand

Nag Tibba is a trekkers’ delight. Though it is a relatively unknown

trail near Mussoorie it can easily be considered one of the best

weekend treks for someone around Delhi. Nag Tibba also called as

Serpent’s Peak is the highest peak in the lesser Himalayas in

Garhwal region.It is the highest peak (9,915 ft) in the Nag Tibba

range of the Garhwal Himalayas.

The trek takes you through dense forests rich in flora and fauna

and presents stunning views of Bandarpoonch peak, the Gangotri

group of peaks, Kedarnath peak in the north, Doon valley and the

snow peaks of Changabang.

The difficulty level of the trek is easy and is best suited for beginners.

The trail passes through villages, dense forest and meadows. It is

considered the best weekend trek near to Delhi.

2. Triund trek Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh

Located 18 km from Dharmshala, Triund makes for an attractive

trekking destination, with well-defined forest trails and breath-taking

views of the entire Kangra valley. The view of the evening sky from

Triund is a good enough reason to pitch a tent here for the night.

The length of the trek makes it apt for a weekend.

This is a small and an easy trek, which can be done either from

McLeodganj or Dharamkot, which is 2 km ahead of McLeodganj.

The trail is 7 km from Dharamkot and passes Galu Devi temple. From

this temple, it takes around 3 hours to reach Triund. The initial half of

the trek is a gradual incline and the last 2 km from Snowline Café

involve a steep climb all the way till Triund (2,975 metres).

The terrain, location, scenic points & stars makes it a perfet trek fo r

the beginners.

3. Parashar Lake trek Mandi, Himachal Pradesh

Parashar Lake is a sacred lake located on the top of a hill near the

Baggi village in the Mandi district. The lake is situated at a height of

8957ft. above sea level and it is dedicated to Sage Parashar. There is

a temple situated near the lake and is believed to be built in the 13th

century.

The lake houses a floating island which keeps changing its position

time to time. According to locals, it is said that the water level of the

lake has been maintained for centuries now. There is no water

source to the lake.

The lake is surrounded by snow-laden peaks of Himachal Pradesh

most of the time of the year. One can have clear views of mighty

peaks such as Indrasan, Deo Tibba, etc. It is one of the few weekend

treks from Delhi and Chandigarh.

4. Deoriatal-Chandrashila TrekRudraprayag, Uttarakhand

Deoriatal Chandrashila is one of the most popular treks in the

5. Kedarkantha trekUttarkashi, Uttarakhand

Embellished with stunning scenes of snow set on the trail and

decorated with trees, trek to Kedarkantha is one of the most popular

winter treks in the Indian Himalayas.

The peak stands at an elevation of 3810 meters above the sea level

and the trail covers a distance of around 20 km. The difficulty level

of the trek is moderate and is recommended for beginners as well as

experienced ones.

The journey to the summit offers breathtaking views of snowcapped

mountain peaks, rampant greenery along the trail, beautiful

landscapes, extensive variety of flora and much more.

The trek can be done throughout the year but the best experience

that one can get by doing this trek is during winters (December –

April)
