QUACK, QUACK, OOPS !Say Hello to the Quackers, who are some of the latest editions to our animal family at Corran Dean.

They really enjoy their little pond where they can have a nice bath and flap around a lot ! They spend the rest of their time roaming around the orchard looking for tasty insects and worms !

The three white ones are Cherry Valley ducks and the three brown ones are Khaki Campbell ducks. They are all female and it won’t be long before we have plenty of duck eggs – yum yum !

Our quackers came from a local breeder www.hillviewducks.co.uk Mick from Hillview Ducks is hoping to visit Corran Dean in the spring. Have you been to visit us yet ?

SANTA’S LITTLE HELPERS

The little ponies at Corran Dean sprout antlers every Christmas, and this year was no different…except there was a new reindeer on the block !

Milo pony did a great job of helping Santa to deliver tasty Christmas treats to the neighbours along Smokey Lane. The miniature Christmas pudding cakes seemed to be a definite favourite with everyone who had some.

Nobody seemed to question the fact that the Reindeer had spots !?!

So…Which colour tinsel will you choose for the Reindeer next Christmas ?

INTENSIVE INTERACTIONFUN, LEARNING AND A WHOLE LOT MORE

Intensive Interaction is a way of enhancing and exploring the Fundamentals of Communication that are essential to everyone’s lifelong development.

Fundamentals of Communication include enjoying being with another person, improved concentration span, and using and understanding facial expressions.

Intensive Interaction underpins all that we do at Corran Dean. It’s great for everyone.

Top tips for Intensive Interaction :• Relax ! • Tune in to the other person &

focus solely on them• Join in with their movements,

sounds, & expressions.• Let them lead…and then you

respond• Don’t drive on• Pause, wait…take your time• Stay ‘available’ even when you

are pausing• Don’t do too much – you don’t

have to respond to everything• Have fun !

A DAY ON THE FARMPLANTING TIME IS NEARLY HERE

Potatoes, leeks, runner beans, strawberries…They all need to have their positions planned in the vegetable garden, to get the best crop that we can this year.

So we have all been busy outside, when the weather has been dry.

We have been lucky enough to have acquired a poly tunnel ! which we plan to have installed within the next few weeks, ready for the growing season.

So why don’t you join us to grow some exotic fruits, such as lemons, pineapples and mangos !

There will be plenty of work to get on with in the new poly tunnel – vegetable beds to create and pathways to make, before the planting takes place.

The poly tunnel will give us the ability to grow vegetables all year round, and to carry out gardening activities whatever the weather.
