GRADUATE CERTIFICATE/DIPLOMA ONLINE LEARNING

CORROSIONENGINEERINGCorrosion Engineering offers exciting career opportunities for engineers, scientists and researchers. According to the World Corrosion Organisation White Paper, corrosion may be costing the Australian economy more than $13 billion a year.

It is an issue particularly pertinent to the energy and resource industries where optimal corrosion management practices can have a positive impact on maximising efficient, safe production.

The Graduate Certificate and Graduate Diploma in Corrosion Engineering are the first in a series of postgraduate courses Curtin University offers to meet growing industry demand for qualified corrosion engineers and quality research in this field. The course is part of oil and gas companies Woodside and Chevron’s sponsorship of the Chevron-Woodside Chair in Corrosion Engineering.

Both courses are offered online. The graduate certificate is the equivalent of six month’s full-time study, while the graduate diploma is the equivalent of one year’s full-time study. If you have an undergraduate degree in engineering or an applied science discipline, this course offers you a chance to break into this market and fast track your career in a broad spectrum of industries.

duratIon and avaIlabIlItyThis fee-paying course is one year part-time study and is offered fully online. Each student will be advised of their individual study plan, which will be subject to the availability and sequencing of units within the program. Two intakes are offered each year in February and July. However, the July intake requires a minimum of three semesters to complete the course.

entry requIreMentsA recognised degree in engineering or science with equivalent of first year chemistry. If you do not have an appropriate bachelor degree, you may be required to complete additional units which would extend the duration of the course.

proFessIonal reCognItIonThis course has been selected to be part of the NACE International Collegiate Student Certificate Program. Students with a grade of above 75% at the end of a semester will receive a NACE Certificate and a complimentary one-year NACE International student membership.
