Akerman Expanding LA Office, Real Estate Practice Group

Akerman LLP appointed Sue Zabloudil as Los Angeles office managingpartner.

Colliers International has hired Mel Myrie as its regional finance and operationsmanager for its expanding Eastern Region. As a member of the finance team, Myrie will handleoperational coordination, financial planning, and analysis support.

Myrie brings more than 15 years of commercial real estate experience, most recently serving as anassociate director of capital markets with Marcus Millichap. Before that he spent 11 years at JLL asa senior vice president and head of finance for the firm's Northeast Region. Prior to his career inreal estate, Myrie served in the U.S. Army, rising to the rank of Corporal and completing a tour ofduty in Operation Desert Storm with the 82nd Airborne Division.

Marcus Millichap Taps Baskin as New Regional Manager

Marcus Millichap has promoted Brenton Baskin to regional manager of itsPhiladelphia office.

Baskin had been serving as sales manager of the Philadelphia office since July 2014. He started hiscareer with Marcus Millichap in the firm's Newport Beach, CA office in 2008. Before that he servedas an associate at a boutique real estate firm in Orange County.

CHICAGO

Liberty Property Trust Appoints New City Manager of Illinois/Wisconsin Region

Neal Driscoll, a decade long employee at Liberty Property Trust, has beenpromoted from vice president to city manager of the firm's Illinois/Wisconsin portfolio.

In this role, Driscoll will oversee development, leasing and property management of Liberty'sregional portfolio, which constitutes approximately 13 million square feet across more than 50buildings.

Driscoll, a member of NAIOP and AIRE, is well-versed in the region, having focused on industrial andinvestment real estate for Inland Cos. in Milwaukee before joining Liberty's Chicago office in 2005 tooversee leasing and development of the Wisconsin portfolio. In 2012 his responsibilities wereexpanded to include the firm's Chicago assets.

Himmel + Meringoff Promotes Vacker to EVP

Himmel + Meringoff has promoted Jason Vacker to executive vice president. In hisnew role, Vacker will be in charge of leasing the firm's entire 20-building portfolio.

Vacker, who has been with Meringoff Properties since 2008, most recently held the title of vicepresident. In addition to overseeing development and implementation of the company's commercialleasing program, Vacker is involved in due-diligence, underwriting, and financial modeling processfor new acquisitions.

Wheeler/Brand Bolsters Property Management Platform

As the executive vice president of property management, Freeman will manage and develop theproperty management division that oversees more than 75 assets located throughout the SoutheastU.S.

He joins Wheeler/Brand after nine years with Columbia Property Trust/Wells Real Estate Funds,where he managed 11 million square feet of Class A office space across 37 properties in 11 differentmarkets, including Atlanta.

SRS Taps Sellers as FVP

Sellers previously handled commercial sales and leasing at Holliday Commercial Realty Interests.There, he worked with a number of national retailers to provide a number of different services,including helping Hibbett Sports roll out their build-to-suit program in Texas and the Midwest, andrepresenting Discount Tire Co. in their expansion efforts in Central and South Texas.

Casey to Head Walker Dunlop's Mid-Atlantic Capital Markets Team

Walker Dunlop has promoted Brian Casey to lead its Mid-Atlantic Capital Marketsteam.

A senior vice president who has been with the company for two years, Casey has been managing thefirm's balance sheet lending activities which now includes over $250 million of loans on multifamilyproperties across the country.

Prior to joining Walker Dunlop, Casey served as managing director and head of real estate debtstrategies for Metlife. In addition to real estate loan production for the institutional lender, Caseywas responsible for overseeing a $43 billion general account mortgage loan portfolio.

DTZ Names New Retail Services Team
