CARRIED PUBLIC OPEN FORUM SESSION: Mayor Rennie asked if there was anyone in the gallery who wanted the

opportunity to address Council as the public open forum session was now open.

D. Mendelsohn advised that local residents submitted a letter to their local councillor last year requesting Council consider a Disclosure of Pecuniary Interest and Code of Conduct Bylaw. The disclosure of pecuniary interest was brought forward however the Code of Conduct was never discussed. She then advised council with why she thought both of these items should be adopted by Council. She further suggested that complete council packages be provided several days before meetings and felt that there should also be a range of options provided for all recommended actions.

C. Redington noted that Councillor Yagos’ article in the Express had been discussed at the last meeting and asked why the FACES group whom nominated Louise Davidson for an award were not invited to the Volunteer Appreciation Event.

Mayor Rennie advised that Woodlands County has received congratulatory messages from Hon. Rob Merrifield, MP for Yellowhead for our awards in Marketing Alberta Small Community Award for Alberta Icon Passport Project as well as the two awards from the Economic Developers Association of Alberta for small community marketing campaign & in Social Media and Website.

Mayor Rennie also advised that he has been contacted by two developers

in the Old Ferry area and that he recently attended an Alberta Transportation meeting regarding the tendering process on maintenance. He advised Alberta Transportation at the meeting that it was not acceptable to take the low bidder when these companies cannot find an adequate number of employees to maintain the workload required.

Councillor Pritchard advised that the Yellowhead Regional Library Board

has been advised by the Province that they have found money which will be split between the 16 boards to keep costs down.
