Minutes of previous meeting approved Mayor Hamil ton called a t tent ion to

the reported contaminat ion of the water furnished by the Ann Arbor Water Company and suggested t h a t the water committee of the council investigate the same.

Manwaring—Resolved, tha t a committee consisting of the water committee, City Engineer, City Attor­ney, and Dr. Wessinger as Health Ofh; cer be appointed to investigate the con­taminat ion in the city water, and t ha t they be authorized to employ such as­sistance as may be necessary for tha t purpose.

Gentlemen—I herewith submit my annual report of the work done by my office during the year ending Jan. 1st, 1907.

I have condensed this report as much as possible, believing you will be interested only in general results.

William C. Weinhardt , Pres. During the past year grades have

been given for 16,726 lineal feet of sidewalks, the greater portion of which have been built. Grades have been given for 1,687 feet of curbing and gutters exclusive of t ha t on Wil­liam street.

Owing to the inability of the D., Y., A. A. & J. Ry. Co. to secure ma­terial for a new track on William street, t ha t street was not paved dur­ing the past season. However, the curb and gut ter was built and this street will probably be paved during the coming season. On August 2, 1906, we paid the Central Bitulithic Paving Company, contractors for Wil­liam street pavement , as follows:

4,698.8 ft. cement curb and gut ter a t 50c S2,349.40

30 inlets at $10 300.00

Less 10 per cent. $ 2,649.40

Amount paid $ 2,384.46
