Activity As you can see, you can count using change and
different bills. The only thing we need to remember is to count by
1s, 5s, 10s 20s, 25s, 50s and 100s. We will not count to one
hundreds for this activity. Our job is to count to one hundred.
Your task is to pretend that there is a special toy, game, or thing
you want to buy. I will then put together six groups that will
choose what toy, or thing to buy. Your job is to help me make a
poster of how much money you need to buy that object on a Power
Point slide. We will pretend that you have used money from you
piggy bank, or money that you have gotten from our parents to count
how much money you have, or need to buy what you want. The object,
money and how much money you have, or need will all be shown on the
poster.
Slide 23
Teachers Job I will Split you up into groups of six. That way
we will only have four groups presenting. My job is to use the
computer to find pictures of what you want to buy as a group and
tell you how much money I will give you. The group will split up
and each team member will count part of the teams money. If you
have any questions, or need scratch paper to add your money please
let me know when I come around to check. When we finish our group
project we will present them to the class in a Power Point
Presentation. I will put the presentation together on the computer,
but you will have to tell me what to put on your slides, what
colors you want to use for the background and what color letters
you want to use. When we finish the project, I will then show the
class what you all came up with.
Slide 24
We can now begin to count coins and bills to see how much money
is needed to buy your favorite object.
