Since September 2014, more than 20 new applicants from the Pacific Rim were awarded Full Accreditation, bringing the total in this region to 153 programs in 13 countries, or more than 15% of all accredited institutions.The demographics of institutions accredited in the Pacific Rim region are presented on page 10. The translation of AAALAC International’s Three Primary Standards continues, with the recent translation of the Guide for the Care and Use of Agricultural Animals in Research and Teaching (FASS 2010) into Thai by Dr. Montip Gettayacamin. The PDF file of the book will be available online and the books will be distributed free-of-charge to all institutions and interested communities where agricultural animals are used for research and teaching in Thailand. The Guide (NRC 2011) has been translated into Chinese, Japanese and Thai. Translation of the Guide into Korean and Malaysian languages and the printing process is ongoing.
