BACKGROUND• Been in post at teamBEDS&LUTON for 6 months now. • Previously worked in Higher Education for a number of years

prior to this in a variety of roles such as Sports Development Officer.

• Submitted my first coaching plan in March and this was successfully approved by Sport England.

• The coaching plan incorporates a number of areas such as: NGB work Sport England Programmes Local Delivery Support

EXAMPLES OF PROJECTS; NGB

• Rounders– Recently delivered a Rounders’ Umpire Course in

partnership with Rounders England and 12 successfully completed.

– Deployed into the Bedford Rounders League and workplace challenge competition taking place in June.

• Cricket– Finalised Level 2 Cricket Coaching Course at UoB to be ran

during November through to February. – Providing a workforce for USAF, clubs and Chance to Shine

Programme.

EXAMPLES OF PROJECTSSPORT ENGLAND PROGRAMMES•No Limits

– In partnership with Active Luton, No Limits and UKA arranged a Guide Running Leader Course for July 2015 to help set up running sessions for the Visually Impaired.

– Incorporated an AK4A course into the FA’s Level 1 Coaching Disability Football for all candidates. This provided further knowledge for the coaches to adopt in their sessions. EFDS even published the case study of a candidate attending this course.

– Held Nutrition Course at UoB where 13 coaches attended and all gave brilliant feedback from the event

– Organised Foam Rolling Workshop, Coaching Breakfast and The Benefits of Strength and Conditioning for your Athletes.

– All can be found on the website via training and courses.– Is there anything else you would like to see within the CPD

EXAMPLES OF PROJECTSLOCAL DELIVERY SUPPORT•COACHING BURSARY

– Offering a coaching bursary twice each year; May and October 2015.

– 10 have been awarded this month to a variety of people within different sports.

– Carrying out TNA for coaches and helping local clubs with participation, capacity issues along with elite level sport.

– Arranging an awards evening to reward and recognise the coaches selected.

– Each month a coach is highlighted to us and selected to appear within our coaching newsletter. This has proved popular and been running since April. An endurance athlete and footballer has been included.

include. It is a great opportunity to showcase the valuable work of a coach and also the club/participants.
