5. Offer your group’s definition of “courage.”The definition could be a phrase or a sentence.

Tyler Doohan• Tyler, from upstate New York, was staying at a relative’s on

January 19 when he saw a fire in the small mobile home at

around 5:00 a.m.

• Tyler woke up six people, two of whom were children ages 4

and 6. He then went back into the blaze to help his grandfather,

a disabled man-neither one made it.

• For Tyler’s funeral, firefighters from multiple departments

stood in formal “Class A” uniforms with bagpipes playing

• Declared an honorary firefighter: Family was presented with a

special helmet-receiveing the same funeral ceremony given to

fallen firefighters.
