• Do not assume that you will recover or complete at summer school
• Choose Compulsory next step courses (ie. after choosing ENG2P also choose ENG3C)
• Choose Electives
• Choose Alternatives

Studies in Education (Block A)
IDC4U – Ideal for students who want to teach.
Students will have the opportunity to teach all
levels of curriculum in a variety of subject areas
and learn about teaching strategies and
assessment in Canada and around the world.
Special Courses/Packages:
Leadership (2 Credits – Block 2B)IDC4U & IDC3O – this program has the potential to be 2 credits
towards your diploma! Students must take the grade 11 credit as a
prerequisite for the grade 12 credit. This course prepares and
motivates students to provide leadership within the school.
Students will develop coaching, teamwork, and conflict
management skills while they manage a team, convene special
events and school-wide projects and peer support roles. They will
design and implement a plan for contributing to their school
and/or community; develop skills in communication, interpersonal
relations, teamwork, and conflict management; and apply those
skills in leadership and/or peer support roles within the classroom
and school community. Students will examine group dynamics and
learn the value of diversity within groups and communities.
Special Courses/Packages:
Enviroventure (4 Credits – Block 4A)Students work in an outdoor environment for a
full semester so a love of the outdoors is a must
for this all day, all semester course. Students
are expected to accept the challenge of both
working independently and in close co-
operation with their classmates. It is a very
physically active course. For more specific

Media Studies (EMS3O) Examines and deconstructs the media messages
in our lives.
It is an optional English course. It does not take
the place of your compulsory grade 11 English
course, but it does count as a ‘Group 1’
compulsory credit
