Course Objectives: Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:

1. Identifies the client’s basic human needs for life and mental well-being.

2. Modifies his/her own behavior in response to client’s behavior.

3. Selects appropriate techniques for dealing with angry or upset clients and their family

members.

4. Identifies developmental tasks associated with the aging process.

5. Provides training for achieving client’s self-care based on their capabilities.

Attendance requirements:

It is important for the school to be notified when a student is not able to attend class. It is the

student’s responsibility to inquire about make-up for classroom lectures, lab sessions and clinical

sessions.

Tardiness and/or absence from any part of a class/lab/clinical will constitute a partial absence. A

total of three partial absences will constitute a full absence.

Make-Up Work:

It is the student’s responsibility to inquire about make-up work for classroom, laboratory, and

clinical sessions. The instructor will not re-teach material, therefor there is no charge for make-up

Instructors Responsibilities:

61. At the beginning of each course, the instructor will provide a course syllabus to each student

in the class.

62. The instructor will evaluate each student’s participations, assignments, and projects base on

the grading criteria published in the syllabus.

63. Accurate records of each student’s attendance and grades will be maintained by the

instructor, and retained at the campus. Attendance will be reported at the conclusion of each

class meeting: course grade averages will be reported by mid-term and in final weeks as a

minimum.

64. Unannounced quizzes and special projects may be given at the instructor’s discretion.

Schedule: 135 Hours presented Week 1 through Week 2-35 hours per week, Week 3 28.5 hours,

and Week 4 36.5 hours.
