COURSE DESCRIPTION:

Introduction to the Social History of Children and Childhood Studies. The aims of the course are to

understand the changes in children’s lives over time, to try qualitative and quantitaive methodologies.

LEARNING OBJECTIVES:

Upon successful completion of the course, students should be able to:

1. Demonstrate an introductory understanding of historical views of children, childrearing practices, family and childhood studies. 2. Analyse photos, paintings and movies about children. 3. Understand the changing views about children over time and space. 4. Demonstrate an introductory knowledge of research of methods. 5. Understand the effects of globalisation and media on today’s children. 6. Develop English oral and written skills. 7. Develop discussion skills.

MODULE AIMS

To apply non-formal methods as a way to develop intercultural competence in higher education.

The program’s important part is to address the effects of multicultural processes on young

people’s vision of the future. Our aim is a better understanding of challenges and potentials of

national and international mobility.

Objectives of the project:

To introduce non-formal education and international cooperation into higher education;

To develop intercultural competence of future youth workers, pedagogues and students

of other human sciences to improve the of their work;

To encourage the use of Erasmus+ Youth Programme in working with young people.

MODULE AIMS

Training of students who are able to form the basis and develop the culture of sustainability and

the sustainable way of life of nursery and primary school children in indoor and outdoor scenes as

well, recognize and critically analyse environmental problems; explore and efficiently apply

problem solving techniques.

MODULE SUBJECT

Possibilities for guided tours and excursions in natural environments from the viewpoint of

education for sustainability (scenes: Sas Hill, Pálvölgyi Cave, Budapest Zoo, Hungarian Natural

History Museum). Gathering the local environmental problems of a given region of the student’s

own country. Outlining and presenting the possible solutions for the problems. Possibilities for

methodological implementations of the student’s experiences gained by these activities in the

course of working in nursery or primary schools.

COURSE DESCRIPTION

The main purpose of the course is to better understand cultural diversity and the realities of

culturally diverse societies. The course helps students understand the positions of people and

groups of different backgrounds through the toolkit of sociology and cultural anthropology. The

involvement of non-formal methods helps to interpret and analyze concepts of stereotypes and

to find possible solutions for multicultural challenges.

COURSE CONTENT

- The approach and methods of cultural anthropology - Cultures and subcultures - Key concepts of cultural diversity - Ethnicity, the concept of nation, neo-nationalism - Stereotypes in everyday life, practices of combating prejudices and stereotypes - Xenophobia - Sexual and Gender Minorities

REQUIREMENTS

Knowledge and understating of the curriculum’s topics based on class activities and required

readings. The evaluation is partly based on class presence and active participation, partly on

individual (written or creative) assignment.

Familiarising students with English children's tales and stories, and preparing them for the use of

traditional and modern tales in the classrom in the language teaching process. Extending students'

understanding of the pshyco-pedagogical nature of story/tale telling and its effects on children's

psychological development and their understanding of the world.

MODULE SUBJECT

The definition and classification of tale, and its role in children’s holistic development and

education in order to make them become future readers. The requirements of the selection of

tales for classroom use; the methodological elaboration of different types of tales; listening to

tales, adaptation, dramatization, techniques of story telling and writing, and the creation of story-

books for children.

The course examines English-language literature from classical, British texts to contemporary

works from former British colonies, the Commonwealth and the United States. Students will

analyse and discuss each work while exploring the author’s life and the cultural context within

which the work was written. A very basic introduction to literary theory is included.

The course helps students to acquire the language foundations necessary to work as a teacher at

a bilingual primary school through developing the four main language skills (speaking, writing,

listening and reading). The vocabulary development looks after the needs of a bilingual primary

teacher: vocabulary both related to subjects and classroom management will be developed. The

course will also contribute to the students’ intercultural competence and skills.

MODULE SUBJECT

The students will acquire the language knowledge necessary for teaching a class in English. They

will also improve their language skills necessary for running lessons at primary school in English.

The students are going to become more aware of language use and presentation skills through

Die Studieneinheit setzt sich zum Ziel, durch die Erweiterung der sprachlichen und grammatischen

Deutschkenntnisse der Studenten eine sprachliche Kompetenz zu entwickeln, im Besitz deren sie

fähig werden, sowohl stilistisch als auch grammatisch niveauvoll und verständlich zu

kommunizieren.

KURSINHALT

Aktuellste Themen vom deutschen und ungarischen Alltagsleben wollen die Studierenden durch

Texte verschiedener Stilrichtungen kommunikativ und Wortschatz erweiternd annähern. Ferner

verwenden sie ein konkretes, dem jeweiligen Sprachniveau der Studenten angepasstes Lehrbuch,

das systematisch durchgearbeitet wird. Die neuen Texte werden jeweils mit einer Aufgabenreihe

zum Leseverstehen eingeleitet. Dann wird vielfältig mit den neuen Vokabeln gearbeitet und üben

sich die Studierenden im themenbezogenen freien Sprechen. Nicht zuletzt bekommen die

Studenten eine Kostprobe von dem in D-A-CH aktuellen Wortschatz und Redewendungen in

verschiedenen Alltagssituationen.

students will have classes 4 times, on 10,12,17,19 September from 9 a.m till 14.45 p.m.

DAS ZIEL DER STUDIENEINHET

Zielsetzung: die Studierenden bekommen einen kurzen theoretischen Überblick über die

ungarndeutsche Literatur als Phänomen, über ihre Epochen, Themen, Gattungen, Möglichkeiten,

Probleme und Aussichten. Das Seminar dient zur Stärkung bzw. Herausbildung der

ungarndeutschen Identität der Studierenden. Sie lernen die Kultur anderer Völker zu schätzen und

zu tolerieren.

KURSINHALT

Inhalte: die Studierenden bekommen einen theoretischen Überblick über die Methoden der

literarischen Textanalyse, die verschiedenen Übungstypen, außerdem wird ihnen Einblick in die

Folklore der Ungarndeutschen gewährt. Den Studierenden werden Kenntnisse vermittelt, die sie

in ihrer späteren Unterrichtstätigkeit in den Schulen der Nationalität gut gebrauchen können. Es

werden ferner die wichtigsten Vertreter und Werke der modernen ungarndeutschen Literatur

behandelt. Die Studierenden lernen die Sprache der Werke, die wichtigsten Merkmale der

Dialekte, in denen sie geschrieben wurden, kennen.

Anforderungen: Als Leistungsnachweis sind die aktive Teilnahme an den Sitzungen, das Halten

eines Referats, das Anfertigen einer Seminararbeit und das Bestehen von einer schriftlichen

Klausurarbeit erforderlich.

KURSINHALT

Die Teilnehmer dieses Seminars werden auf eine literarische Reise, die von der Zeit des

Minnesangs und der Helden- und Ritterepen des Mittelalters, durch die Klassik mit Goethe und

Schiller bis zur modernen Literatur unserer Zeit reicht, eingeladen. Der thematische, emotionale,

gedankliche und formale Reichtum der literarischen Werke bietet eine unerschöpfliche

Schatzkammer von Anregungen zur Unterhaltung, Meinungsäußerung, Diskussion, zur szenischen

Darstellung, und indem wir diese Möglichkeiten ausnützen, können wir unsere Sprechfertigkeit

und den Wortschatz vielseitig entwickeln. Die Lesetexte werden in abwechslungsreicher Form

besprochen, wobei wir die für die Zeit, Stilrichtung und für die moralische, philosophische und

ästhetische Sichtweise der Autoren charakteristischen Züge gemeinsam zu entdecken versuchen.

Wir werden Auszüge aus deutschsprachigen Filmvariationen von den bekanntesten Dramen,

Romanen und Opern auf Video anschauen, uns vertonte Gedichte anhören, weiterhin

Übersetzungen mit den Originalwerken vergleichen. Kurz gesagt, wollen wir Sie zum Lesen und

Kennen Lernen der Literatur und dadurch der deutschsprachigen Kultur die mit der Literatur in

Beziehung steht (Kunstgeschichte, Architektur, Musik, Theaterkultur, Sitten, Modegeschichte)

"verlocken". Durch die literarischen Erlebnisse bereichern wir nicht nur unsere Sprachkenntnisse,

sondern unser Gefühlsleben und unsere Lebenserfahrung.

Erweiterung des Wortschatzes der Studenten durch Bearbeitung möglichst vieler Sachkunde-

Themenkreise. Einführung in die spezielle Methodik der bilingualen Bedeutungsvermittlung, damit

die Studenten kindgerechte, spielerische Stunden in Sach-Themen halten können.

Inhalt:

· Einführung in die zielsprachige Sachkunden-Methodik;

· Aufbau der Unterrichtseinheiten;

· Medieninventar und seine Rolle;

· Analyse von Videoaufnahmen über Sachkunde-Stunden;

· Anfertigung von Unterrichtsentwürfen;

· Präsentation und Vermittlung einiger Themen an die Seminargruppe;

· Möglichkeiten der Beobachtung und Ausflüge;

· Möglichkeiten zur Förderung des Umweltbewußtseins.

Die Studierenden haben die Möglichkeit die im Laufe des Fremdsprachenunterrichtes

angewandten wichtigsten Methoden, die Terminologie des Faches, die Kriterien der praktischen

Anwendung der Methoden und die Faktoren der Entwicklung von Fertigkeiten kennen zu lernen.

Es wird mit dem Aufbau der Stunde und dem Einsatz der einzelnen Schritte des Sprachunterrichtes

ausführlich beschäftigt. Die theoretischen Kenntnisse werden mit in der Praxis des alltäglichen

Unterrichtes vorkommenden Beispielen illustriert.

DAS ZIEL DER STUDIENEINHET / KURSINHALT

Ziel des Kurses ist, den Studenten einen Einblick in das Leben und die Kultur der deutschsprachigen

Länder zu gewähren, und dadurch sowohl ihre Sprachkenntnisse als auch ihre kulturelle

Sensibilität zu fördern; den Studenten Anregungen für die weitere Beschäftigung mit Landeskunde

geben und Ideen für die Verwendung des Gelernten in ihrer pädagogischen Arbeit.

Im Seminar wird über die verschiedensten Aspekte Deutschlands und der deutschsprachigen

Länder diskutiert, z.B. über die verschiedenen Bundesländer, Attraktionen, Sehenswürdigkeiten,

über berühmte Personen, Spezialitäten, geschichtliche Ereignisse, Märchen und Sagen usw., mit

einer Kostprobe von den deutschen Dialekten. Die jeweiligen Themen werden durch Videoszenen,

Hörverständnisübungen, Referate, bzw. durch spielerische Aufgaben verarbeitet.
