is the mental attitude and state of training that renders obedience and proper conduct instinctive under all conditions. It is founded upon respect for and loyalty to properly constituted authority. While it is primarily developed by drills, every feature in security life has its effect upon discipline. It is generally indicated in an individual or unit by smartness or appearance and action, cleanliness of dress, equipment or quarters, respect for seniors, and by the prompt and cheerful obedience by the subordinate of both the letter and spirit of the legal orders of their lawful superiors.
