If someone enters your two metre bubble, you might say…

“To help keep you and others safe

from the spread of germs, we are

practicing physical distancing on

campus. I’ll just move over here.”

(take a couple steps back)

OR

“Could I ask you to please stand on

the social distancing floor sign? “

If someone is not wearing a mask, you might say…

“At Brandon University, we are following

provincial health guidelines, and

everyone is required to wear a mask, for

their own health and others.

If you do not have a mask with you, we

have disposable ones available.

Do you need one?”

Note: There may be medical reasons an individual is not wearing a mask.

If someone is not wearing a mask, you might say…

You: “I noticed you (e.g. coughing a fair bit).

How are you feeling?”

Individual: “Yes, I am not feeling well. It is

probably just a cold.”

You: “I am sorry to hear that. For your own

health and others, home is where you need to

be. In fact, the University’s pandemic protocols

direct employees to stay home and self-isolate

if symptomatic, call Health Links - Info-Santé,

and contact their supervisor for absence

reporting.”
