FOR YOUTH DEVELOPMENT FOR HEALTHY LIVING FOR SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY At the Y, we change lives. We provide a greater sense of achievement, belonging,

meaning and inspiration in the more than 5,000 individuals we serve. Our impact is felt

when a child learns a new skill, when a teen is inspired to greater heights, when a family

spends more quality time together, when a cancer survivor feels fierce, and when a

senior feels connected. When individuals are empowered, communities grow stronger.

STRENGTHENING FAMILIES THE JOHNSONS

Lakeisha Johnson came to the Y in search of safe

childcare for three of her children, KeAundre,

Keshaun, and Kelijah. When she came to the Y,

she was struggling to overcome substance

abuse. The Y provided affordable childcare and

support as she worked to improve her situation.

While her boys participated in the Afterschool

Program and camps here at the Y, Lakeisha

successfully completed a rehabilitation program,

finished school and is now gainfully employed.

Her boys are still thriving at the Y, and Lakeisha

exercises at the Y with her mother. The Y is

humbled to be a part of this wonderful family’s

journey toward good health and a bright future!

MORE THAN A GYM ANDY & TOM HUDGENS

Andy and Tom Hudgens discovered the Y through the

Parkinson’s Foundation. They began attending L.I.F.E.

and Parkinson’s Movement classes, through which Tom

could focus on improving his mobility and strength. Tom

completed The Coach Approach® program, receiving a

certificate for his achievement. The Hudgens are now

able to work out on the wellness floor, using cardio and

strength equipment. Most recently, Andy and Tom have

started practicing yoga together. Both Andy and Tom

have made many friends through the Y, whom Andy

refers to as “my people!” We are proud that the Y has

become such a special place for the Hudgens.
