Creating a quiz with hyperlink answers
This type of quiz can be used as a tutorial to develop high order thinking skills

We are going to write a sample
test question that contains a
question with a number bullet and
4 answers with letter bullets
• Start a blank slide
• Click the text box icon and draw a text box
• Type the word Question
• Click the Number Bullet Icon
• Your slide should look like the entry below

• Press Enter
• Type the word, answer
• Press the Demote Icon
We will now change 1. answer to a. answer

• Right click the word “answer” and select Bullets and Numbers from the pop up menu

• Select the a. b. c. box then OK
• Place the cursor at the end of “answer” and press return

• Continue pressing return and typing the word “Answer” until you have a template like the one on the left.
• Next, click the slide sorter button.
• From the Slide Sorter view, click the first slide and press CTRL C
• Next press CTRL V 3 times to make 3 more slides

• Change the text in one of your question slides to make a valid test question.

• We are now going to create a separate slide for each of the answers, a, b, c, d
• Next we will link the answers to each answer slide.
• When the student clicks on the answer it will take them to that slide
Sorry, Joe is the name of the principal.
• Lets start with the Joe slide
• Create a blank slide
• Enter text to let the student know that Joe is the wrong answer. (Sorry, Joe is …..)
• Now we will enter an Action Button to take the student back to the question slide

• Click Autoshapes
• Click one of the action buttons
• Draw the action button
• Click the drop-down button
• Select Slide …
• Click the number of the Question slide. (Our Question is on slide 8)
• Click OK

Click to return to question
• Now when the student clicks the action button it will return to the question slide
• Type text to explain the button
• Our next task is to “Hide” the Answer slide so it doesn’t come up during the presentation.
To hide a slide so it does not show during your show:
• Make sure the slide you want to hide is active
• From the Slide Show Menu, select Hide Slide
• Repeat this process for each of the answer slides

Linking the answers to the answer slides
• Highlight “Joe”
• Click the Link Icon
• Select the answer slide for a. Joe
• Repeat this process for each of the other answers
