Solar Fire GOLD TIPS & TECHNIQUES Creating an Extra Ring Points File and Displaying in a Chart You want to create a Chart in Solar Fire to display your own special set of points such as Fixed Stars, Arabic Parts, Asteroids, Midpoints or a range of other professional options. You can do this by creating an Extra Ring Points file and then Editing a Page Design. 1. Select Chart Options/Extra Ring Points from the top of your Solar Fire opening screen. 2. Click on Create to create your own Extra Ring Points file. You will be asked to Name your own file. In this example we will call the new File “MyStars”. 3. Make sure that MyStars is highlighted in your list of files and Click on Edit. You will now be pre- sented with a screen which enables you to choose your points.On the right hand side of the screen you will see Point Type. If you click on the type of points that you require the middle list of Available Points will change. 4. Click on the required Fixed Star and then on Add. You will see your selected point on the list of Selected Points. In this example we will click on Fixed Star and Add a small list of Stars. 5. Click on Save and then Click on Select. 6. Now Select View/Page Topic Index from the main screen of Solar Fire. 7. Click on the Basic + sign to list a selection of Page Designs.

    You want to create a Chart in Solar Fire to displayyour own special set of points such as Fixed Stars,Arabic Parts, Asteroids, Midpoints or a range of otherprofessional options. You can do this by creating anExtra Ring Points file and then Editing a Page Design.

    1. Select Chart Options/Extra Ring Points from thetop of your Solar Fire openingscreen.

    2. Click on Create to create your own Extra Ring Pointsfile. You will be asked to Name your own file. In thisexample we will call the new File MyStars.

    3. Make sure that MyStars is highlighted in your listof files and Click on Edit. You will now be pre-sented with a screen which enables you to chooseyour points.On the right hand side of the screen youwill see Point Type. If you click on the type ofpoints that you require the middle list of AvailablePoints will change.

    4. Click on the required Fixed Star and then onAdd. You will see your selected point on the list ofSelected Points. In this example we will click onFixed Star and Add a small list of Stars.

    5. Click on Save and then Click on Select.

    6. Now Select View/Page Topic Index from themain screen of Solar Fire.

    7. Click on the Basic + sign to list a selection ofPage Designs.

  • 8. Select the Design that you wish to Edit. In thisexample we MUST CHOOSE uniextra.pag whichdisplays both a Standard Chart wheel and an ExtraRing with extra points. The one already designed lookslike this.

    9. Click on Edit. The following Page Design editingscreen will appear.

    10. Now click on each Object on the Page and edit theExtra Points File one by one. For instance first click onyour Chart Wheel. You will know that it is highlightedwhen little red markers appear. The details will changeon the right hand side of the page. Look for and SelectExtra Points File. Once Selected then Click on theArrow at the Top of the List. This will give you a list ofFiles.

    11. Selected your required file. In our Example we willlook for MyStars and Select this file by clicking onOpen. Do this for each Page Object.

    12. Please note that you will also need to make thesechanges for each Page Size listed in the top right handside of the Page Designer.

    13. Click on File/Save and Exit the Page Designer. Youmay wish to Save As and Name your new Design.

    14. You are now ready to View your Design with yourown Extra Ring Points file.
