• Title, Composer, Lyricist ("Score"), Copyright• Create new score from template

• Jazz Big Band

• Key signature

• Time Signature, Pickup Measure, Measures

• Add and order instruments• Hint: use two instruments of one staff each for piano

Instrument names• Right click, Staff Properties

Size and spacing• Layout->Page Settings

o Space, Landscape• Style->Edit General Style->Page

o Staff distance, System distance, Page fill threshold

"Crescendo or Diminuendo Note Velocities" plugin

Use note properties to suppress playback of passages

Add playback-only staves for rhythm section instruments

Add staves for doubles

Proofing

Turn off concert pitch

Set treble clef for tenor and bari sax

Check enharmonic spelling

Add courtesy accidentals

Creating Parts

File->Save As: "parts score"

Layout->Page Settings: Page Size, Scaling

Delete "Score" from upper  left

File->Parts• New• Name, Title, Instrument (include doubles)• Create Part• Include "print score" with all but playback-only staves

Processing Parts

Save

Style->Edit General Style->Hide empty staves if using doubles

Right click to left of first staff, delete instrument nameInsert horizontal frame if indent desired

Check line layout

Check shape of slurs, position of elements
