Most of these photos cut of features making the image

look non-professional.

These are the images to choose from for the back cover of my album.

Looking at the front cover I am quite keen to not use the same character, but to still use the close up-head shot as I think that would be quite simple and effective.

Going of this judgement, I think this image would be most suitable as it gives plenty of room for text- it is a close up head shot, but not identical to the shot on the front cover, it is slightly different.

I imported the image into fireworks, then changes the canvas size to 10cm by 10cm and resized the image to fit the canvas correctly. Finally I saved it as a jpeg so that I can edit it on photoshop.

Messing around with some of the filters on photoshop, I tried the same ‘rough pastels’ effect which I used on the front cover, then tried another one called ‘angled strokes’ which I preferred as it is smoother and reflects the innocence of the character.

By changing the direction, brush size and the sharpness you can alter the image-By increasing the direction but keeping the other two options similar I liked the increased intensity of the face.

CREATING A MUSIC RECORD LOGO

I Looked at a couple of other record label logo’s

and I thought that a globe would be quite simple and unique as it is a universal brand I WANT To create-I

first resized the globe then changed it from colour to black and

white increasing the contrast.

To get rid of the rough edges I used the blur tool.

Finally I added my initials to keep it simple and overlapped the text on the globe and resized it to a smaller image.

I have now decided to move the text to the right hand side rather than centring it, as now it matches the barcode and

looks more professional.

Page 13: Creating the album back cover

Instead of having the text massive I have decided to make the text a smaller font to match the front cover a bit more

tracklist

FIRST DRAFT I have tightened the text to keep the house style the same (text is tightened on the front cover)

I have made the number bold and increased the size
