Two Triple C School students, Kaylee Scott and Tya Bovell, were among a group of U18 girls that started on a journey that began approximately seven months ago on public beach. According to the Cayman Rugby Association, the journey took them to victory in the Shield Division fi nal in the prestigious high school division of the Las Vegas Invitational Sevens tournament. This was the fi rst Cayman Islands underage girls team that has ever traveled to competition and would not have been possible without the committed and sustained effort of all girls on the team. Out of a talented pool of players, twelve were able to travel.

The traveling squad was Tya Bovell, Sami Galvin, Ciara Galway, Mya Heiss, Jasmine Line, Pippa Parker, Ella Plunkett, Ria Plunkett (Captain), Kaylee Scott, Elana Sinclair, Skylar Smith(Vice-Captain), Eleri Stabler.

On day one, the girls found their competitive edge despite a few challenges. The girls woke up on day two motivated to improve on their performances and did not disappoint. Depth in the squad was evident as substitutes were made and control of the game continued. A dominant performance resulted in a 46-0 victory to Cayman, making Cayman Shield Division champions in their fi rst ever competitive tournament.

For full details on the game, go to the Cayman Rugby Association’s Facebook Page and see their post on the U18 Victory.

Coach Pearson led the Triple C Netball Team to the Championship earlier this school year.

Mrs. Cowan and her 4 year olds braved George Town on Friday, March 2, 2018. The children were jumping for joy with so much excitement in the air! Mrs. Cowan arranged for a police-guided tour of their very own George Town. They were afforded a walking tour of their capital city and the important landmarks and buildings. The walking tour provided a way for students to become active in their learning.

Love was in the air at the Church of God Chapels Bodden Town XO Marriage Conference. The Live Simulcast was held at the church from Dallas, Texas, on the weekend before Valentine’s Day with approximately 50 to 60 couples participating in the event. The annual event with a top-notch list of entertaining and name-dropping worthy Christian speakers (Jimmy Evans, Max Lucado) was so entertaining that even the uncoupled could attend and enjoy themselves. If you missed this year’s event, be sure to sign up for next year’s - it’s well worth it and the highlight of the weekend will be a sweet vow renewal with your other half. This year, Bodden Town Church of God also arranged an evening banquet at the The White House for those interested in joining together for fellowship after the conference. Triple C Staff provided free childcare for parents with children who attended.

We aren’t sure who had more fun - the children, or Inspector Courtney Myles? We are most grateful to Inspector Myles and the entire RCIPS team for their time and generosity. Wow! So much to run away to and to touch, feel and see.

PTA Hosts Darkness to Light Informational Evening

PTA Fish Fry and Business Expo is a HIT!

The Triple C School PTA is on fi re! When you see one of the school PTA members, be sure to show them some appreciation for all the hard work they do behind the scenes. They recently hosted the “Darkness to Light” presentation for parents. This is a very important presentation that educates parents and guardians about the prevalence of sexual abuse in our own community. The topic is one of great importance. The RCIPS, the Womens Resource Centre and the Employee Assistance Program were all part of the Presentation Panel.

Additionally, the PTA held their Annual Fish Fry. Hats off to the chef. Exceptional culinary skills took place behind the scenes. We added a Business Expo to the evening. We had good feedback on the Expo and plan to make this an annual event. Make your plans now for next year. Thank you to all who participated and to those who had a table at the event.

Thank You!

Ritchie Righteous was the guest speaker of the evening, full of glowing entertainment!

Youth from Triple C School and community youth groups joined together in the multi-purpose hall for the evening.
