TYPOGRAPHYPOSTER
PROJECT : This is a typography assignment from the ‘portfolio feature’ at Sessions College for Professional Design. I based this poster on a well known abstract painter, Ilya Bolotowsky. The aim of the project was to create the main typography and design for an A & E special. The challenge was to represent the characteristics, personality and style of the artist within the type and concept. My aim was to produce a well balanced and striking design that would reflect Bolotowskys most recognisable works.

A LITTLE DROPOF LIFE
CLIENT :Cotton Bureaucottonbureau.com
Cotton Bureau is a T shirt printing company which holds regular competitions and submission opportunities for designers. My design ‘A little drop of life’ was selected last summer and featured on the Cotton Bureau Website. I had recently moved to a city by the sea which inspired my illustration. My themes were based on water, life, urban culture and life by the coast. The design was successful and I was fortunate enough to meet the challenge of selling 25 shirts in 2 weeks to make it into print.

SPRING TIMEDOODLES
PROJECT : A self promotion project: This is a playful print and all over tee de-sign, inspired by springtime doodles. These T shirts were printed locally and available on demand. The prints proved to be particu-larly successful and the limited use of color helped to keep it cost efficient.

RE-BRANDINGRN LOGO
CLIENT :Robins Nest Re-branding
A logo design project for a local client specializing in board games, crafts and some anime related games. My aim was to create a design that would be simple yet bold, incorporating a symbol which could be easily associated with the brand, (the robin). I choose contrasting typefaces to create a clear distinction between the logo and the description. I wanted it to stand out on a limited bright color palette however I also needed the design to work in black and white for print purposes. Here are the results.

MAGAZINE CONCEPTS
These are selected samples of magazine layouts created during my advanced modules in graphic design. The layouts were created by InDesign, and photographs edited in Photoshop. I developed mock ups in both print formats and interactive PDF’s as well as liquid pages for easy viewing on tablets such as the I PAD.

VACATION MAGAZINE
PROJECT : The brief was to produce the first six pages of an interactive magazine to be read on an iPad as a folio. As part of my final module I was tasked to design an attractive cover, an easy-to-navigate interactive table of contents, and two to three articles for the Vacation magazine. My vision for the project was to create a theme based on the ‘winter edition.’
PHASHIONINTERNET MAGAZINE
PROJECT : The first challenge of this project was to create a logo for Phashion’s Internet magazine. The logo would relate to the target audience, balancing the notion of ‘trendy’ with a timeless appeal. I then designed the magazine cover combining the logo, cover image, and story titles. I also created a two-page story spread based on the feature article of my cover. I used a standard grid to position the images and text which helped to produce a creative and well balanced design.

MARY’S MARKETWEB PAGE
PROJECT : Mary’s Market is a local Cafe and Bakery with three main locations in the Rockford area. In 1982 the original founders, set out to build a Café combined with a Bakery. The business has since flourished, well known for their quality food and a variety of custom catering services. With that in mind, Mary’s Market needed a fresh new look to their website and branding strategy. This website was created by myself with the direction of Multimedia Marketing Group and developed using WordPress. The aim was to give it a fresh and modern look while maintaining that ‘homemade’ feel.’

ICPNWEBSITE DESIGN
The Illinois Crisis Prevention Network (ICPN) is designed to meet the behavioral and medical needs of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities who are experiencing significant behavioral and medical challenges. The ICPN consists of six statewide Support Service Teams who provide community-based support and consultation services to the person experiencing these challenges, as well as their family and or service providers.
ICPN was in need of a set of clear communication tools in order to reach out to both educators and family’s in need of support. I designed the layout and color scheme with this in mind and developed the first of the two websites as an informative platform. The second website; ‘ICPN Training’ is a place for educators and community members to sign up for workshops and stay informed of up and coming events. This needed to be very functional while keeping the same look, so that the two sites could be seamlessly integrated.

EXPLAINER VIDEOS
CLIENT :MultimediaMarketingGroup
These line illustrations were created for a four part Animation on the MMG marketing campaign. The aim was to inform clients about the importance of storytelling in their brand throughtrans-media storytelling. This is essentially exploiting a product with a focused marketing campaign across multiple platforms in a way that the consumer feels personally connected to the brand, using the four pillars of story telling. The animation explores these four pillars; authenticity, sensory, relevancy and archetypes. The decision to use Illustration and animation helped demonstrate to potential clients how we can effectively communicate an idea or branding message through explainer videos, which has become a growing trend for communication in the marketing field.
