Diocesan Property Committee Who are we? A sub-committee of the Diocesan Finance Committee. Members include: Kirby Smith, Treasurer Episcopal Church Center (ECC), Ocean Beach Richard Wade, Chair St. Mary’s-in-the-Valley, Ramona Bob Nelson St. Peter’s, Del Mar Sandi Lanzarotta St. Peter’s, Del Mar Louis Beacham St. James-by-the-Sea, La Jolla Pete Casalegno St. Mary’s in-the-Valley, Ramona Anthony Vanaria St. Michael’s, Carsbad
Diocesan Property CommitteeWhat do we do? Help assess property needs of member churches. Review and evaluate proposals received to remedy these needs. Review proposed corrective actions and help monitor implementation of any remedial
programs. Assist in generating “Property Needs Assessments (PNAs)” Review property related loans, grants and contracts. Recommend actions to purchase, sell, lease or otherwise transact disposition of diocesan
property referred to it by the Bishop or Corporation. Prepare and distribute information to assist in the use of church property e.g. “Property
Usage Guidebook”, “Fix and Save”, Grant Application Pro etc.
Diocesan Property Committee How do we do it? Meet with member churches with prospective issuesWork with them, as needed, to develop programs Provide assistance wherever necessary Evaluate requests for grants to help implement projects
Grant Program This is usually a cost-sharing program Awards are based on proposals submitted Grant Application Process needs to be followed (on Diocese Web-site) Eligibility normally requires a current PNA having been completed
