Threading is an ancient method of hair removaloriginating in Middle East. In more recent times
it has gained popularity in western countries, especially with a cosmetic application(particularly for removing/shaping eyebrows). In threading, a thin (cotton or polyester) threadis doubled, then twisted. It is then rolled over
areas of unwanted hair, plucking the hair atthe follicle level. Unlike tweezing, where singlehairs are pulled out one at a time, threading canremove short lines of hair.
Advantages cited for eyebrow threading,as opposed to eyebrow waxing, are that itprovides more precise control in shapingeyebrows and is gentler on the skin. There area few different techniques for threading. Theseinclude the hand method, mouth method andneck. Each technique has advantages anddisadvantages; however, you will be taught thehand method on this short course giving youthe precise and hygienic skills.
