OvERall MaRkET UpDaTEWithamyriadofthingshappeningthiswintersuchasrumorsoftheskiresortselling,acolderwinterthroughoutthenationandasnowierwinterinCrestedButtethanwehavehadinmul-tipleyears,theFirstQuarterof2014wasmuchslowerthan2013.Buyersweremoreinclinedtoskithefreshpowderandtakeawaitandseeapproachtopurchasingthiswinter.

BuyersfinallydiddecidetostartmovingandputtingpropertiesundercontracttowardtheendofMarchwithaflurryofpropertiesgoingunder.CurrentlyintheGunnisonCountythereare85propertiesundercontractwithalistingvalueof$34.6million,withthemajorityclsoingintheSecondQuarter.

TheonlysegmentofourmarketthatmadeimprovementswasthecondoandtownhomemarketinMt.CrestedButte.Duetotheabundanceofsnowthiswinter,manyskierswereintowntopartakeintheamazingskiing.Theincreaseofskiersintownhelpeddrivethesaleoflowertomiddlerangecondosandtownhomes.Thissegmentalmostdoubledinsalesvolumefromthepreviousyear.
