Dinosaurs lived 200 million years ago. Dinosaurs have been dead for 60 million years. People have only been on our earth for 6 million years.

4.

Cretaceous dinosaurs were the last dinosaurs on earth. There were more dinosaurs during this period than all the other periods put together.

6.

Cretaceous dinosaurs lived for 80 million years. The weather was like our weather today. The summers were hot and the winters were cold. Then, about 65 million years ago, dinosaurs all mysteriously disappeared forever.

8.

Some dinosaurs alive at this time were the Triceratops, Velociraptor, Saltasaurus, and Ankylosaurs. Also alive was the Tyrannosaurus.

10.

Triceratops had a three- horned face and a beak to feed on plants. It was 30 feet long and 10 feet high.

12.

Velociraptors were carnosaurs or meat eating dinosaurs. They ate the plant eating dinosaurs. Their sharp pointed teethwere their weaponfor tearing apart thfood.

Saltasaurus was a huge plant eating sauropod or large lizard. It walked on four thick legs and had a long neck. It’s pencil thin teeth cut leaves high over head. Its stomach had stones to crush and grind the leaves.

16.

Ankylosaurs moved slowly and had a small brain, but had great protection from their enemies. Thick bony plates and spikes covertheir backs and sides. They also had a club ofsolid bone on the tipof their tails.

18.

Tyrannosaurus was the largest meat-eater of all time. It had seven inch long sharp teeth and weighed more than an elephant.Tyrannosaurus could have been 18 feet high and 50 feet long.

20.

The end of the Cretaceous period was the end of all dinosaurs. Why did they disappear? Was it a change in climate or loss of food? Was it a terrible disease? What do you think caused the end of the dinosaurs?
