The low viscosity polymer penetrates and mechanically bonds deep into properly prepared concrete. Creteseal 2 Day System is alkali resistant and will not support biological growth (bacteria, fungus, mold or algae). The material is generally applied in two thin coats providing a durable, breathable coating that reduces moisture vapor. A primer and concrete topping will be required over the 2 Day System. Advantages Low odor, extended pot life. Self priming, Easy clean-up, Easy to apply, Alkali resistant to pH 14 and can be applied over damp/10 day old concrete. Concrete Preparation Before coating is applied, concrete must be: • Dry – No wet areas • Clean – Contaminants removed • Profiled – ICRI-CSP 2-3 • Sound – Cracks and spalled areas repaired and ground Mechanical preparation is the preferred method of preparing concrete for coating application. Shot- blasting or diamond grinding are recommended to achieve ICRI-CSP (surface profile) 2-3. Patching Voids, cracks and imperfections will be seen in finished coating if the concrete is not patched correctly. Fill cracks and control joints with Perfect Patch or PermaPaste when applicable. After the patching material is cured, diamond grind patch if necessary. Testing All surfaces are not the same. It is recommended that a sample area be done before the start of the project. Mixing Creteseal 2 Day System is pre-measured at proper mixing ratios to help ease installation. Mix the following with a drill and mixing paddle. Note: If using a drill mixer, use a low speed (not to exceed 300 rpm) to minimize air entrapment.

1. Pre-mix Part A. Part B does not require pre-mixing.

2. Pour all of the Part B into the Part A container.

3. Mix the combined material for 3 minutes. 4. The material is now ready to apply. Creteseal

2 Day System has a pot life of 1-2 hours. Once poured out on the floor, 20-30 minutes of working time can generally be expected.

Application Instructions Creteseal 2 Day System is a two coat Product. Blended material appears milky in color, but dries to a clear finish.

1. Mix coating using the mixing instructions above.

2. Apply approximately 300 SF/gallon by pouring out on surface in a ribbon. Using a squeegee, pull material over substrate while covering surface evenly.

3. While wearing spiked shoes, use a 3/8” non-shedding paint roller to roll coating forward and backward. Do not allow puddles in low spots, cracks and divots. Brush out excess material.

4. Back roll in the opposite direction as noted in Step 3. Pull resin evenly while completely wetting out concrete and uniformly covering the surface.

5. When the first coat is tacky but dry to the touch (2-4 hours min., 24 hours max.), apply second coat by repeating steps 1-4. The coverage will be higher as the first coat primarily seals the concrete as the second coat will encapsulate the concrete.

Clean-up Creteseal 2 Day System, while in an un-reacted state, may be cleaned up with soap and water. Acetone may be needed once the resin begins hardening.

Product Limitations Ground level concrete slabs emit invisible moisture vapor. The allowable moisture

emissions for concrete are generally under 3 lbs / 1,000 SF over a 24 hour period. Relative Humidity results should be below 85% per ASTM F2170. A calcium chloride test can be performed per ASTM F1869 to determine concrete moisture level. If moisture levels exceed these limits, a concrete moisture vapor control system should be used first before apply coating system. Please contact the Concrete Waterproofing Products technical department for more information.

Coating systems are susceptible to cracking if the concrete moves or separates below the coating. Hence, joint and crack treatment should be reviewed prior to coating application. As a general rule, control joints and random cracks should be saw cut or chased first then filled with Perfect Patch or PermaPaste when applicable. Cold joints (two slabs which meet and hence move) should be treated. After the coating has been applied and cured, saw cut through the coating over construction joints and apply an elastomeric caulking.

Warranty Creteseal 2 Day System comes with a 15yr warranty on the replacement of all flooring material that fails due to excessive vapor emissions or contaminates such as alkalinity. Please refer to the Concrete Waterproofing Products Full System Material and labor warranty for additional clarification.

Safety Consult Creteseal 2 Day System Material Safety Data Sheet. Some individuals may be allergic to this coating. Use of safety goggles, protective gloves and clothing when using this product is recommended. Perform work in a well-ventilated area.

1.0 INTRODUCTION AND PURPOSE

1.1 This specification defines the minimum requirements for a Moisture Vapor Emission Reduction Control System specified with a minimum of (10) years of documented experience.

1.2 The Vapor Emission Reduction Control System must be capable of controlling vapor emissions up to 25 pounds and reducing down to compliant levels to be compatible with all floor finishes and adhesives.

1.3 Vapor Emission Reduction Control System shall allow all types of surface treatment systems - e.g., paints, coatings, liners, adhesives, overlays, membranes, wood, rubber, V.C.T.tile, sheet vinyl, ceramic tile, or carpet to properly bond to the substrate.

1.4 Application: Certified by the manufacturer of Vapor Emission Reduction Control System.

1.5 The Vapor Emission Reduction Control System will be a two-part system consisting of a penetrating membrane and a polymerized cement topcoat.

1.6 The penetrating membrane will be two part low viscosity penetrating product that properly bonds deep into concrete and V.O.C. compliant.

1.7 The substrate smoothing and resurfacing product shall be approved by Vapor Emission Reduction Control System manufacturer and will be compatible with proposed finish floor manufacturer's specifications.

1.8 The Vapor Emission Reduction Control System must carry a minimum (15) year warranty on its system specified; both finish flooring and labor, if failure due to substrate originated moisture vapor and/or moisture-born contaminates such as alkalinity.

1.9 Vapor Emission Reduction Control System must deeply penetrate and seal the substrate providing a permanent sealer system not affected by the removal or remodeling of flooring, and give a smooth surface to accept all finish floors or coverings.

1.10 Manufacturer of Vapor Emission Reduction Control System must maintain a minimum product l iability insurance of $2,000,000, and shall add owner as additional loss payee.

2.0 EXECUTION

2.1 An Concrete Waterproof ing Products representative shall be on site to document and oversee the entire installation process.

2.2 The concrete slab shall be free of all flooring materials including adhesives and patching compounds.

2.3 The concrete surface shall be shot blasted or planetary ground to remove the hard-carbonized surface and obtain the proper CSP.

2.4 Route out all cracks/control joints and fill with Creteseal Perfect Patch or PermaPaste when applicable.

2.5 Apply the Creteseal 2 Day System according to the manufacturer's instructions.

2.6 After a minimum of 12-hours apply the Concrete Waterproofing Products approved primer and concrete topping either by skim coating or self-leveling (Arx products preferred or approved substitute by Concrete Waterproofing Products)

2.7 Once the installed concrete topping has cured according to the manufacturer's recommendations, you may begin installation of the flooring materials.

3.0 WARRANTY

3.1 Manufacturer shall provide written warranty for their system installed on below grade, on grade, or above grade concrete slab treated with the product according to manufacturer's instruction. The manufacturer shall warrant the floor finish against failure due to negative-side moisture migration or moisture-born contaminates such as alkalinity for a period of (15) years from the date of original installation. The warranty shall cover both labor and materials necessary to repair or replace the floor finish if repairs cannot be made.

3.2 Manufacturer to provide Vapor Emission Reduction Control System warranty against failure of its system, workmanship, de-lamination, and other deterioration of floor finish installed over Vapor Emission Reduction Control System due to moisture vapor emission up to 24 pounds before treatment and reduce down to compliant levels after treatment from the substrate.
