I have overviewed review and my observations are enclosed. I note that I have concluded, amongst other things, that efforts should now be made to assemble relevant evidence to facilitate the charging of Senior Constable Punchard with offences of computer hacking as soon as possible. As Senior Constable Punchard has previously given a directed interview and investigators who have previously investigated the matter are aware of the contents of that interview, the Queensland Police Seruice may wish to consider allocating the matter to a new investigator and ensuring the contents of Senior Constable Punchard's interview are quarantined from the new investigator to ensure that the argument that was successfully raised in the prosecution against cannot be raised in relation to this matter.
