2. Existing System

In the existing system only we can see the details of particular

information about the police stations in our state, the existing system has

more workload for the authorized person, but in the case of Proposed

System, the user can registered in our site and send the crimereport and

complaint about a particular city or person.

More man power.

Time consuming.

Consumes large volume of pare work.

Page 6: Crime File Management System

Needs manual calculations.

No direct role for the higher officials.

Damage of machines due to lack of attention.

To avoid all these limitations and make the working more accurately the

system needs to be computerized.

3. Proposed System

The aim of proposed system is to develop a system of improved

facilities. The proposed system can overcome all the limitations of the

existing system. The system provides proper security and reduces the

manual work. The existing system has several disadvantages and many more

difficulties to work well. The proposed system tries to eliminate or reduce

these difficulties up to some extent. The proposed system will help the user

to reduce the workload and mental conflict. The proposed system helps the

user to work user friendly and he can easily do his jobs without time

lagging.

Page 7: Crime File Management System

3.1 Expected Advantages of Proposed System

The system is very simple in design and to implement. The system

requires very low system resources and the system will work in almost all

configurations. It has got following features

Ensure data accuracy’s.

Proper control of the higher officials.

Reduce the damages of the machines.

Minimize manual data entry.

Minimum time needed for the various processing.

Greater efficiency.

Better service.

User friendliness and interactive.

Minimum time required.

Technology Overview of my Project

PHP

PHP is a powerful tool for making dynamic and interactive

Web pages.

PHP is the widely-used, free, and efficient alternative to

competitors such as Microsoft's ASP.

In our PHP tutorial you will learn about PHP, and how to

execute scripts on your server.

PHP stands for PHP: Hypertext Preprocessor

Page 13: Crime File Management System

PHP is a server-side scripting language, like ASP

PHP scripts are executed on the server

PHP supports many databases (MySQL, Informix,

Oracle, Sybase, Solid, PostgreSQL, Generic ODBC, etc.)

PHP is an open source software

PHP is free to download and use PHP files can contain

text, HTML tags and scripts

PHP files are returned to the browser as plain HTML

PHP files have a file extension of ".php", ".php3", or

".phtml"

What is MySQL?

MySQL is a database.

The data in MySQL is stored in database objects called

tables.

A table is a collection of related data entries and it consists

of columns and rows.

Databases are useful when storing information categorically.

A company may have a database with the following tables:

"Employees", "Products", "Customers" and "Orders".

Page 14: Crime File Management System

MySQL is a database server

MySQL is ideal for both small and large applications

MySQL supports standard SQL

MySQL compiles on a number of platforms

MySQL is free to download and use

PHP + MySQL

PHP combined with MySQL are cross-platform (you can

develop in Windows and serve on a Unix platform)

Page 15: Crime File Management System

HyperText Markup Language (HTML) is the main markup

language for web pages. HTML elements are the basic building-

blocks of webpages.

HTML is written in the form of HTML elements consisting of tags

enclosed in angle brackets (like <html>), within the web page

content. HTML tags most commonly come in pairs like <h1> and

</h1>, although some tags, known as empty elements, are

unpaired, for example <img>. The first tag in a pair is the start

tag, the second tag is the end tag (they are also called opening tags

and closing tags). In between these tags web designers can add

text, tags, comments and other types of text-based content.

The purpose of a web browser is to read HTML documents and

compose them into visible or audible web pages. The browser does

not display the HTML tags, but uses the tags to interpret the

content of the page.

HTML elements form the building blocks of all websites. HTML

allows images and objects to be embedded and can be used to

create interactive forms. It provides a means to create structured

documents by denoting structural semantics for text such as

headings, paragraphs, lists, links, quotes and other items. It can

embed scripts in languages such as JavaScript which affect the

behavior of HTML webpages.

Page 16: Crime File Management System

Web browsers can also refer to Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) to

define the appearance and layout of text and other material. The

W3C, maintainer of both the HTML and the CSS standards,

encourages the use of CSS over explicitly presentational HTML

markup
