(1)Apoliceofficermayrequestasuspecttoundergoaforensicprocedureonlyiftherearereasonablegroundstobelievethattheprocedurewouldtendtoconfirmordisprovetheinvolvementofthesuspectinthecommissionofanindictableoffenceandthesuspect—
(a)issuspectedonreasonablegroundsofhavingcommittedtheindictableoffence;or(b)hasbeenchargedwiththeindictableoffence;or(c)hasbeensummonsedtoanswertoachargefortheindictableoffence.

(1)Apersongivesinformedconsenttoarequesttoundergoaforensicprocedureifheorsheconsentstotherequestafterapoliceofficerinformsthepersoninlanguagelikelytobeunderstoodbytheperson—
