Issues:• They look into issues that affect the youth.• Mostly Crime and British Artists.

Interests:• They commonly use demos and music created by new British artists.

Ideologies: • Equality • promoting rights of young people • Give power to the voice (of young people)

WHY the BBC Radio 1?

• BBC Radio 1 usually broadcast hard news.

• Their target audience is population London.

• They also are entertaining. Their style is laid-back relaxed. But they can also pull off any serious situations that need attention.

• Their news vary all the time from hard news to soft news.

• In their news they speak formerly but also informally

• Since we are talking to a younger audience we have to use language that they are comfortable with.

• For example…

• We selected our stories based on the news values that best appeal to young east Londoners – proximity, celebrity and negativity.

• We use music as an effective way of keeping them interested

TECHNOLOGY FROM THE PROCESS OF

CONSTRUCTING THIS PRODUCT?

• Radio- The transmission and reception of electromagnetic waves of radio frequency, esp. those carrying sound messages. Radio is a parallel medium, which means that you can carry out other activities while listening to it at the same time.

• There are many different ways to access radio nowadays. Before there were only one source.

• But now because of convergence you can access radio from all types of areas. e.g. Radio, Internet, Cars and Phones.

• By doing this you can access the radio digitally. And I have seen that this has allowed people including me to gain access to radio more easily. For example, you don’t have to be Inside to to be able to listen to radio.

• Digital Audio Broadcasting.

DAB

Advantages Disadvantages

• More channels are available in the same frequency compared to AM and FM transmissions.

• Offers the audience better broadcast quality and service.

• Rooted out the problem of interference in AM and FM broadcast

• Not all areas of the UK are currently covered by DAB broadcasts.

• DAB is very expensive to transmit

• Not all independent radio broadcasters have adopted the DAB transmission. So you will not be able to hear that radio station.

Microphones used for on-air broadcasting

• Shure SM-7 dynamic microphones and seven use Electro-Voice RE 20 and RE 27 dynamic microphones are used in radio broadcasting most commonly. They used to use this in the olden times.

Audacity• Audacity is a free, easy-to-use and multilingual audio editor and recorder for Windows, Mac OS X,

GNU/Linux and other operating systems. You can use Audacity to:• Record live audio.• You can use different effects on the audio• Cut, copy, splice or mix sounds together.• Change the speed or pitch of a recording.

• We have learned that language and personality affects a news broadcast a lot.

What I learnt

• Organization-I have learnt that being organized is very important to have a successful end of product or the work ends up dull

• Meeting Deadlines-I have learnt that to make sure that you are organized allows you to meet deadlines which help you seem sophisticated.

• Planning- I have learnt that planning your work helps in meeting deadlines. Because planning helped in getting all t he resources together and using them when I needed it.

• Ethical Issues- I have learnt that there are twelve rules of journalism and that includes stuff like not lying or plagiarizing and this is important because breaking these rules affect a lot of people in negative ways.

Next Time…

• I’ll try to panic less if I come across something that seems really hard

• I’ll make sure I do better planning

• Meet my team and deadlines more often

• Make sure to get all the facilities organized and ready for use when needed
