11.15 KEYNOTE - TECHNOLOGY & INNOVATION THE STADIUM AS A PLATFORM Attending a sporting event is no longer just about the sightlines, seat widths, or concessions. The sports industry is moving toward a new model in which the stadium is a technological and commercial platform. While the platform concept requires an organisational and operational mindset shift for teams and stadium operators, organisations that embrace it in stadium design, construction, and operation will be in the vanguard of offering their fans the best experience in the stadium of the future. The speaker will outline five key implications that are vitial when your organisation is evaluating how to leverage each level of the technology “stack” for its stadium.
• Peter Giorgio, Sports Consulting Lead, Deloitte Consulting LLP

12.30 KEYNOTE - THINKING ABOUT REVENUE THE DIGITALISATION OF CASH How Can Stadium Businesses Use Digital Payments To Their Advantage? Digital payments overtook cash for the first time in 2015. Cash payments have been in decline for several years and as digital payments become more accessible and importantly more convenient to consumers, you won’t be surprised to know that this decline is expected to continue over the next 10 years.
So what’s driving this change? In this presentation we explore the technological impacts (such as contactless), the cost of cash management to businesses, consumer behaviour trends, innovations causing disruption (wearables), as well as a look at businesses which have used digital payments to fuel their success.
