Prayer Concerns

Missions: Apportionments & Opportunities

Mission and Service Team

As a result of recent storms and flood, our Missions team has been active in a number of different ways:

Many thanks to those who helped assemble 50 cleaning buckets and to those who contributed financially! Some buckets have already been given out and the remainder will soon be given to others in need following the recent floods and tornadoes.

*Our church has been asked to house mission teams from various loca-tions as they come into the area to assist.

*We hope to offer ERT (Early Response Team) training in the near future. This level of response involves anywhere from one to three days only for assistance at the Relief level.

*We may have opportunities to help in Recovery in the future. We will keep everyone posted as these opportunities “to establish the caring presence of the church and to provide hope for survivors” present themselves. Please keep everyone in your prayers!

Thank You To All For Your Contributions And Assistance!

Favorite Hymns? July and August are the months in which we invite the congregation to submit their favorite hymns. Typically this month has featured the older, “gospel style” hymns but really any hymn of yours that is a favorite will be considered. These hymns don’t have to come from the Methodist Hymnal. In the past we have received requests from the Cokesbury hymnal, as well as the Church of God and Baptist hymnals. If your request comes for a source we don’t have, however, you made need to help us by supply music. Please give your re-quests to either Pastor Schneider, Jim Gregory, or Teri Wadley.

Calendar

Thank you all that attended the UMW luncheon. It was a fun day. Thank you for supporting Camp Erin through the raffle tickets and donations. Didn’t Lu-cretia do a wonderful presentation? So proud of our church gal! Rummage Sale is only 11 weeks away! Isn’t that hard to believe! The Rum-mage Sale is such a wonderful mission for the UMW and the whole church. Do you know how the monies collected at the Rummage Sale goes to help? Not only does it go the Salvation Army, Angel Tree, Caring Community Friends, Kids Kloset, Blessing Box, Backpack program, NSO, Oklahoma Disaster, Cookson Hills and missions in the USA and International through UMW Na-tional, it also help John 3:16 with some clothing, Veterans with coats and any-one who needs help. Once we had a lady contact us who had a friend whose house had burned down and she had nothing. We told her to come and get what she needed. We hear so many stories too! A day near and dear to our hearts - we had a lady walking around with a little dog in her arms. She was taking him to be put to sleep, but she just needed to be at a church. We all gathered around her and prayed and she was able to go do what needed to be done. Our Esther Circle and Joy Circles meet again in September. If you are not part of a Circle, you are missing out on Women’s fellowship, Bible lessons and good food. The Esther Circle meets on the 2nd Thursday of the month at 9:30 am in the Parlor. The Joy Circle meets the 1st Thursday of the month at 6:30 pm n the Parlor. The United Methodist Men meet in the Fellowship Hall at the same time as the Joy Circle. See you on September 5th at 6:30 for the Joy Circle and Sep-tember 12th at 9:30 for the Esther Circle. Have a blessed Summer. Stay safe and go out and do something good!

For more information please contact Barbara Collins or Sarah Rojas in the office. Thank you & we look forward to seeing you!

July will bring a schedule change with chil-dren's programs on Sundays. Sunday school will go from 9:30am - 10:30am. Children will then need to be “picked up” by their par-ents as the children will be with their families during the first part of morning worship. At approximately 11:10, the children, in each setting of worship, will be to the children’s room for a Children’s Church. We hope that this will both enhance our Children’s Church time (with more focused activities done in a briefer time) and allow our families some time to worship experience morning worship together. Please feel free to contact April if you have any questions. Stay tuned for information on our family fun night in July and our back to school bash in August. Please find us on Facebook (Sapulpa First United Methodist Children's Ministry) for the most up to date events!

Children’s Director Due to ongoing responsibilities at school and home, Tabitha is wanting to step out of her responsibilities as co-director of children’s ministries.

She does want to continue helping as a volun-teer with the program.

Youth Group Enjoys Camp Experience

Thank you to all who helped provide transportation for our campers to Camp Egan for district camp. Other than the one casualty, Brook-lyn Milks, with a broken clavicle, a good time was reported by all.

Thank you to Diana Kennedy and Jamie Harp who took 12 or our youth Oklahoma City this past month to participate in... During the first week in July Kira and youth will be participating in Youth Force in Owasso.

But we are now looking for someone to be a part of our children’s pro-gram team. We especially desire someone who has teaching experience (either pro-fessionally or extensive training as a volunteer) and ability to evaluate and implement Christian curriculum. We also desire someone who can train other volunteer’s in working with children.

If you know someone who might be interested, please have them contact Pastor Schneider or Barbara Collins.
