Need to Know King Jesus Died For Me!

Characters:

◊ Princess Petunia (Video puppet) – Child of the King who is excited to be a princess and learn how to live as a part of King Jesus’ royal family

◊ Nick the Knight (Video puppet) – A child of the King who works in the royal guard; crowns us each week to let us all know we are kids of the King and part of the royal family; helps us know how to show love to the King and to others; facilitates game with Dilwyn the Dragon

◊ King Jesus (Video) – Tells us a story each week from the best book ever; each story is about a king or queen of long ago who either did or did not show Him love

◊ Dilwyn the Dragon (Animation) – Keeper of the royal jewels; comes out to play a review game with us each week

Hear ye, hear ye! Welcome boys and girls to our series “Crowned”! o In this series we are going to learn to live like royalty! o Before we start let’s pray!

Lead Kids in prayer

I have two friends that we met last week who know ALL about royalty. Their names are Nick the Knight and Princess Petunia. Can you make a trumpet sound? (Practice trumpet sound with the kids) Great! On the count of 3, let’s blow our trumpet to welcome Nick and Petunia! 1…2…3…(Trumpet sound)!

You heard Dilwyn! We need to find some jewels! We need to answer the questions on the Jewels correctly and then we can add the Jewels to our crowns! (Host and Kids look for Jewel Card 1 on stage. Kids yell out where they see it.)

Host (Finding Jewel Card) Great job friends! It looks like Dilwyn wants to know (reading question from Jewel Card): “Did King Jesus die to forgive you and me? If so, shout ‘YES’ on the count of three! One, two, three!”

(Shouting) Yes!

   

Host That’s right! We all do wrong things sometimes. That’s called sin. And there is a punishment for sin – death. Jesus loves us so much, that He took that punishment for us. When we are honest with Jesus about our sin and believe that He died to take our punishment, He forgives us! So that’s why Jesus died – to forgive you and me! And now I need your help again! Do you see the other jewel Dilwyn hid for us? (Host and Kids look for Jewel Card 2 on stage. Kids yell out where they see it.)

Host (Finding Jewel Card) Here it is! And now it looks like Dilwyn wants to know (reading question from Jewel Card): When we believe that Jesus is King and ask Him to forgive us, do we get to live in the Kingdom of Crickets or the Kingdom of Heaven?”
