CRTPA TA ProgramBackground

At March 25, 2013 Board Meeting, members approved a timeline associated with the establishment of the CRTPA Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP)

Related to the federal Transportation Alternatives Program (TAP) was established as part of MAP-21 (Moving Ahead for Progress in the 21st Century) – federal transportation funding package signed into law by President Obama in July 2012

Projects formerly known as Transportation Enhancements were consolidated with Recreational Trails Program and Safe Routes to School Program, to create the Transportation Alternatives Program.

CRTPA TA ProgramBackground

Collectively, Transportation Alternatives (TA) are defined as federally funded, community-based projects that expand travel choices and enhance the transportation experience by integrating modes and improving the cultural, historic, and environmental aspects of our transportation infrastructure.

Associated with the March approval of the CRTPA TA Program was the establishment of the Transportation Alternatives Subcommittee (comprised of 6 TAC and CMAC members)

Initial Task: Develop evaluation criteria to rank the Transportation Alternatives applications that will be received in 2014
