Terra Nova includes many of the subjects that your child is taught in
school, ranging from reading comprehension to Bible. For each question,
several answers are given and the student must select the best possible
answer. The teacher will be reviewing sample questions before the Terra
Nova is given in order to make sure your child understands the proper
testing procedures. Students in grades kindergarten through eight will
take part in this educational assessment.
Terra Nova can only give certain types of information about how your
child is doing in school. To obtain a more complete picture, you also need
to know how your child does with daily classwork, other tests the teacher
gives, homework and other activities.
The testing will begin promptly each morning at 8:00 am. Students who
arrive after the testing has begun will not be allowed to enter the class-
room until the day’s testing has been completed. Please make sure your
child arrives to school on time. During the week of testing there will be no
homework in elementary school and only test practice homework in mid-
dle school. If you have any questions about the testing, please feel free to
ask your child’s teacher or contact Mr. Manning.
Results should be returned to the school in late May. The academy will
issue the results to each family as soon as possible.

Each year BCA has the opportunity to be involved in a state-level writing competition. In both
composition and content, writers are encouraged to be creative and accurate. Each writer may
choose to write a story, essay, play, or poem. This year our BCA competitors did very well. Be-
low is a list of each writer and their category that was sent to the competition. Please join us
for our end of the year awards chapel on May 24 at 8:10, where the winners will be announced.

Mrs. Herendeen and her family are faithful members of Fellowship Baptist
Church. She serves on the shower committee, nursery, and teaches Vaca-
tion Bible School. She also participates in the women’s intermural volleyball
club. This year her team went undefeated during the season and played for
the championship game on Friday March 15. They split the first two games
and lost the third 15/11. It was an exciting evening and very competitive.
Mrs. Herendeen led her team well, just as she does in the classroom. BCA
is extremely blessed and thankful to have Mrs. Herendeen on staff.

Mission Operative Day
On April 3, the students of BCA will experience a morning of service. Our students will join to-
gether in the sanctuary to learn about various ways they can serve others. Next, each elemen-
tary grade level will leave chapel and will help create GIFT BASKETS for several of the local pre-
schools in our area. The gift baskets will be filled with the various ingredients the preschool
teachers will need to create SLIME for their class. Finally, each elementary student will make a
jar of SLIME and they will then be charged with giving that jar of SLIME to a non-BCA child (in
their community or church family). We are asking for parents to assist us in helping students
pick the perfect someone they can give their SLIME to as they seek to share the love of Jesus
with others.
Our middle school students will be assistants for our elementary students while some middle
school students will work to clean the BCA campus. We are super proud of our students and
their desire to help others.
GAME DAY CHAPEL!! April 17th
