CSR @ BRPL: Sparsh for the period April 1, 2015 to March 31, 2016
Objective of the CSR Policy at BRPL We want to live and work in perfect harmony with communities around us and actively contribute to the growth of the society with a special focus on energy conservation. Methodology: BRPL undertakes several initiatives that contribute to the growth and well being of the society. Additionally, BRPL has been regularly reaching out to its various stakeholders including its customers‐creating, supporting and participating in events that promote energy conservation. Initiatives undertaken: Activities that contribute growth in the society

Various Activities (Snapshots): 1. Adult Literacy Mission for women: To empower women from lower income groups and to given them functional literacy, BRPL has partnered with 2 NGOs to run literacy classes for women in 120 clusters in its area.
Under Adult Literacy Mission, women from the poor sections of our society, residing in slums /JJ clusters attend our sessions. We are implementing this program in collaboration with two NGOs
“SAHYOG Care For You” for West Delhi and “Virmani Trust” for South Delhi.
These sessions are regularly being organised at 120 clusters (60 each in South and West Delhi)
Under Adult Literacy Mission, 10 computers were donated to“SAHYOG Care For
You” for West Delhi.
These computers are being used for providing technical education in clusters at Nangloi and Tagore Garden divisions.
Under this, around 9000 women have got benefited
A few women also participated in a bill distribution project in JJ Nangloi and

Bill Distribution in JJ Clusters—Adult Literacy Centre
• Women from BRPL` Adult Literacy Centers are helping the discom distribute electricity bills and collect arrears from defaulters in the JJ Clusters of Tagore Garden and Nangloi.
2.Project Dignity
Project Dignity strives to improve the conditions of existing crematoria in Delhi.
Pet crematoria ‘Paws to Heaven’ and Lodhi Road Electrical crematoria were identified under Project Dignity

3. Actively supporting Swatch Bharat Abhiyaan
BSES Rajdhani Power Limited is actively supporting Swatch Bharat Abhiyan, initiated by the Hon'ble Prime Minister of India
Hundreds of its employees ‐ across its various offices spread across its licensed area of around 750 sq. kms ‐ took the “cleanliness” pledge. They vowed to keep their surroundings and the city clean. They also wielded the broom and cleaned the areas around their offices.
Sanitation drive
• BRPL undertook an awareness and sanitation drive in MCD schools of West Delhi. Besides giving students basic information on issues related to health, sanitation and hygiene, toilets were also repaired and spruced‐up in 40 schools. Around 20000 students benefited from this drive.
4. Eye and Medical Camps
• 18 eye care camps were organised in association with I‐Care Hospital & Post
Graduate Institute, in many villages‐ Dichaon and Chhawla, Rewta, Ujwa, Tikkri , Pandwal Kalan. We organised such camps in Sarita Vihar division also.
• Nearly 7500 patients were examined and around 5500 glasses distributed and eyes
related medicines were distributed.
• In addition, a medical camp in collaboration with MGS Hospital was organized at Village Surehra in Jafarpur area benefiting around 250 people. One more health camp was organised at New Krishna Model Public School, Rawta village attended by 75 persons.
5. Self Defence Training in Schools • BSES Rajdhani Power Ltd in association with an expert agency (Trident Tactical Private
Solution) is imparting self defence training to students in schools.
• Self Defence trainings were organised in 12 West Delhi schools (and college) in association with Trident Tactical Private Solution, a specialised organisation led by a former SPG commando. Around 1200 girls were trained under this. Certificates and school bags were also distributed to these students.
6. Vocational Training Centers for Women
• To equip young women with skills for gaining meaningful employment, BRPL started vocational training centres in Nangloi, Najafgarh and Jafarpur. Mundka centre to start soon.
• Trainings are on for imparting various skills such as Computers (Basic and Advanced), Beauty Culture, Tailoring and Retail Management etc.
7. Sports Activities (Kabaddi & Volleyball)
• The first tournament organised under this initiative was the ‘Kabaddi Talent Tournament’ in West Delhi. It was organised with active help from BRPL’ Corporate
Fitness and Sports and the Business departments. The tournament was open for men, women and youth from Najafgarh Jaffarpur, Mundka and Vasant Kunj areas.
• Organised at Mange Ram Vyamshala in Najafgarh, the tournament saw over 70 teams
(12 players in each team). Around 2500 spectators witnessed the tournament at Kair Village,Najafgarh
• Subsequently, a volley ball tournament was organised at Tikri Village ( Mundka Division)
on on 20 &21 February. It was a huge success with more than 2000 people enjoying the final.
• Both the tournaments were organised with active support from BRPL’s sports and the
business teams. We organised these tournaments entirely with internal resources with no external agencies involved.
8. Cancer Detection Camps
• Four free Cancer Detection Camps were organised in association with PHD Family Welfare Foundation in remote areas of Nazafgarh,Jaffarpur,Mundka and Khyala.
• Around 400 residents were examined
9. Electrician Training Program
Two training programs were organised in Safdurjung Enclave and in Vikaspuri to train electricians, especially those nominated by RWAs. Over 325 electricians were trained on various issues relating to internal house wiring, electrical safety, prevention of short circuits and electrical fires, importance of installing Earth Leakage Circuit Breakers(ELCB`s) and its various functions.
10. Blood Donation camps
• Safe blood saves millions of lives each year. BRPL, in association with the Indian Red Cross Society (IRCS) and Deen Dayal Upadhya hospital, has been organizing blood donation camps, twice a year, for the last several years. Employees have been coming forward with great enthusiasm to donate blood.
• July 6 ‐10,2015, blood donation camps ((5) were organised in Nehru Place, Harinagar, Andrewganj, Tagore Garden and R.K.Puram. 148 donors donted blood in these camps
• Two camps were organised in Andrewganj and Harinagar on 28 Dec 2015 and 8 January 2016. In both camps,30 donors donated blood
• A total of 178 BRPL donors donated blood.
11. Green Project (Waste paper recycling management) BRPL has always tried its best to take initiatives to protect environment. In an effort to use the resources optimally, to use the paper waste (print waste, newspapers, magazines etc), BRPL, has entered into an agreement with JAAGRUTI™ Waste Paper Recycling Services, a professional recycling unit, which collects waste paper from our various division/ stores offices and recycles it. This initiative is named as “Green Project”.
12. BRPL’ ‘Energy Program’ for school children
• BRPL is partnering Delhi Government schools for its recently launched “Energy Program”, a novel initiative that seeks to promote energy conservation among young students. Under the innovative initiative, messages on energy conservation, electrical safeties etc, are disseminated amongst the students of partner schools.
• These students in‐turn will help in spreading the messages among their families,
friends and in their neighborhood.
• In these sessions, around 50000 students from 156 schools were educated. These students were sensitized about importance of electricity in our lives, energy conservation and the menace of power theft, among others.
• In some schools, we also sensitized students about various aspects of electricity
through a cartoon film.
13.Nukkad Nataks
BRPL has engaged a professional troupe of trained actors from economically weaker sections of our society.
These specially created Nukkad Nataks were staged in BRPL’ licensed area to educate people about the menace of power theft, safety and energy conservation.
62 Nukkad Nataks were staged.
