Named anchors are spots within a page you can link to• “Anchors” a specific part of the page• Has a name so it can be identified for the
link Useful for a “one long page” strategy
• Table of contents• Alphabetical listing• Document likely to be printed
Three steps:1. Create the anchor using the anchor icon on the
Insert panel Come up with a naming convention you’ll remember E.g. - “temp” for a section relating to the template
2. Link to the anchor Use the link box in the PI Use “#” followed by the name of the anchor E.g. – “#temp”
3. Put a “back to top” link at the end of each section Links to named anchor at top of page
To link to the anchor from another page:• URL of page + # + name of anchor (no
spaces) E.g. – co.shtml#temp (relative link) E.g. -
http://ext.colostate.edu/train/co.shtml#temp (absolute link)
• Links to the named anchor “temp” on the co.shtml page
