Glove Tester
Telstar’s portable glove test kit is an essential piece of equipment for the testing of gauntlets and gloves. Damage to gauntlets and gloves cannot always be seen with the naked eye therefore operators can be put at serious risk if they are handling dangerous products. The test kit includes two main components, the test control box and the test plug. The control box is standard to all test kits however the test plug can be manufactured to suit any glove port shape or size. The test plug incorporates an inflatable seal which seals around the internal dimension of the glove port, when sealed in place air is used to inflate the gauntlet to a known pressure using the visual indicator. The pressure decay is monitored, usually over a five minute period. Results are logged to record a pass/failure. The test is recommended to be carried out before each process.
CTS Ports
Telstar UK is the proud manufacturer of its very own contained transfer device. Starting life as the RTP (Rapid Transfer Port) the design has since been developed and subsequently replaced by the CTS (Contained Transfer System) marking the beginning of a new generation of contained transfer systems.
The Telstar UK Customer Service team has unique access to archive drawings for all transfer port components, enabling/allowing the identification, size, type and end user of each port and giving us the forward footing to provide our customers with the assistance they expect and deserve.
We offer a service to replace worn or wearing parts and seals on site, ports can be shipped back to our facility where a more in-depth service can be conducted including minor machining work and pressure testing, if required.
We offer upgrades to replace RTPs with the more current CTS ensuring our customers have the latest technology which offers the best in OEL/containment levels whilst maintaining the unique bayonet fitting and utilising the existing compatible passive assembly.

The Customer Service team at Telstar UK are highly trained in analysing key equipment requirements and are extremely efficient in correcting potential failures. Our service documentation is amongst the most stringent in the industry, offering full re-qualification of all equipment tested. Instrumentation is checked and calibrated, also optional integrity testing of all HEPA filters may be carried out. Work is conducted by fully qualified Engineers who are trained in product specific equipment.

Upgrades & Modifications
At Telstar UK we place high importance and emphasis on continuous development. We can apply many of our updated technologies to existing equipment from containment screens and safe change filtration for Downflow Booths, to ergonomic changes and CIP systems for our Containment Isolators. PLC upgrades and new sterilization techniques are also available as upgrades to other systems.
As with all projects we aim to complete these changes in a timely and efficient manner, which will minimise downtime and completely remove any associated risks from a health and safety point of view. In addition to upgrades we can be contacted to provide assessments on removal and/or relocation of equipment.
All work is carried out by our expertly trained Installation Technicians and fully validated by in-house dedicated Service/Commissioning Engineers who will continuously aim to reduce downtime whilst working to your required schedules.
Training/Re-Training
Occasionally equipment is moved around production sites, however once relocated, the equipment is not necessarily allocated the same trained operators and maintenance technicians. Anticipating such equipment moves Telstar UK provides effective operator training/re-training, covering Standard Operating Procedures of the equipment as well as the more subtle machinery detail, discernible only to an experienced industry professional. Comprehensive training is also given in the correct change out of critical components to ensure minimum downtime in the event of failure. All training is certified and is of course beneficial to personal development.

Here at Telstar UK, we understand the importance of validation. We conduct in-house HEPA filter integrity testing in accordance with ISO 14644-3 and air classification testing to ISO 14644-1 using equipment that is correctly calibrated and certified.
Independent testing carried out by a third party, not associated with either equipment supplier or end user is offered, if necessary to meet compliance requirements. Applying past experience Telstar can draw from its unique network of approved specialists in this field. All work is independently reported by the approved 3rd party and any corrections or actions are completed by Telstar UK during the same visit. ‘Just another way we can help!’
