Cubbie and Charlie By Mrs. Sandoz Cubbie and Charlie are the best of friends. Their days are filled with playing, romping, and eating together. But, sometimes, Cubbie would like to be left alone. However. Charlie will have nothing to do with that. Nobody can have fun if he cant be part of it. If Cubbie wants to go outside, Charlie follows along. Before Charlie heads inside, he wont leave without his best friend. He will search for Cubbie, find him, and drag him in like a helpless bird. One day, Cubbie decided to put a stop to being bossed around and boldly told Charlie, I am not going to be dragged inside again! I want to play outside and I am going to stay outside with or without you! Charlie was shocked by Cubbies boldness and replied, Fine, dont be my friend! Charlie turned and walked away with his tail hanging low. Cubbie couldnt believe it, he was free from the reigns of Charlie!! He ran, jumped, barked, scampered, and bolted. Just then he spotted something. It was huge. I think its a wolf! Cubbie thought nervously. I sure wish Charlie was here. And as the wolf was smiling and chomping his chops thinking about dinner; Charlie came out of nowhere and charged at him and knocked him over. The Wolf got up and ran away a coward. Cubbie ran over to Charlie cheering that his best friend saved him. I am sorry I didnt want to play with you. I will never say that again. Now Charlies mind was made up to go inside and this time he dragged Cubbie without any resistance. Cubbie loved having Charlie by his side. What a true friend!
