Ding, Ding, Ding. Axyl awoke to the sound of his alarm clock. He leaptdownstairs to find his pet dog circling the wash basket, where he last saw hisbracelet. Axyls bracelet was given to him by his mum, who was dead. It hadall the codes on it to make the foods for his farm. He stared at the washingbasket in shock, as the bracelet was no longer there!

In anger Axyl stormed out of the house to look for his Dad. Heading towards

the back garden he saw his Dad petting the animals of Mayfair farm.Morning Axyl arent you going to go inside and start preparing the food?questioned Axyls Dad.

Well about that... The bracelet has gone missing Axyl said uncomfortably tohis Dad. Axyl just sighed and walked back into the house. Axyl wouldn't speakto anybody but Dexter until there was a knock on Axyls bedroom door. It wasTrixie and Stacey.

Hi Axyl , I know you wont talk to your dad , but I hope you will talk to me andTrixie .

There had always been something between Axyl and Stacey. Axyl wasblushing and was touched that Stacey was going to help him find his bracelet.

Weeks went by but still no sign of the bracelet, Axel, Stacey and Trixie lookedeveryday but disappointment came every time as it was not found. Mayfairhad run out of food so the people of Mayfair had to go all the way toMayflower the city next door that nobody liked.

Stacey and Trixie couldn't look for the bracelet one day because Stacey wasmeeting up with an old friend; who was a chef in Mayflower.

Back in Mayfair, Stacey was preparing to see her friend, when there was aknock on the door. It was Marlon the chef.

Billy The Hobo And The Food Scavenge

Billy Bob Charlton's cardboard box was as dirty as a muddy pig; as old as acaveman; and as smelly as horse poo. Billy the hobo was fed up. He was fedup because he had an unfair life. The world had come to a halt. The worldwas running out of food and everybody else had been scavenging; he hadchecked many times if there was any food left. There was none. The food waswell and truly gone.

Billy felt like a dark cloud had covered his life. Actually he had had a darkcloud over his life for a long time. Billy looked in the small shoe box that hekept his most prized possessions in. They weren't really possessions; just acouple of old bits of wood and string. He did have one thing though a pictureof himself and his friends in the army.

Billy had been kicked out of the army. He had got angry with one of his friendsand nearly killed him. That's what he was kicked out for. Billy felt he should dosomething about his situation and started making a plan; it would be tough, but knew it had to be done for himself.

He dreamt he was sitting in a huge mansion, eating chocolate truffles. His

dream might come true ... in heaven. He forgot about his stupid dream. Hepopped his head out of his cardboard box and peered into the wonderful nightsky. It made him remember his time in the army.

In the morning Billy was going to start phase 1 of his plan.

Billy woke from the sound of roaring cars and lorries driving right by him. Hegot out of his cardboard box and started walking to Number 10 DowningStreet. He suddenly saw a girl rolling on the street. He ran and stopped herfrom going into the road, lucky he made it in time. He noticed that she hadsome sort of label on her clothes, it was a number, she was from a mental

hospital. Billy asked Excuse me, but would you help me to get our countrysfood back? She replied Ghtdfdgugjgjk OK! So they headed off.

When they eventually arrived, they found out that they couldn't get in. A manburst into the room, he was well known as Jim. Suddenly at the speed oflightning he killed the 2 security guards, so Jim and Billy ran away as fast asthey could, back on to the streets where they saw a girl.

    The Bridges of Hobbiton

As Marlon was cutting down the biggest tree in the forest, he felt a heavyrumble beneath his feet. The ground started to tear itself apart, Marlonthought it was his imagination. He was wrong. A gargantuan, robust tree fell just near to him. He was lucky it only grazed him otherwise he would beseriously injured.

As night approached he felt another rumble, but this time it was... his

stomach! So he took the food storage device out of his pocket and had amushroom, coriander and pepper pizza. Meanwhile the people in Hobbitonwere groaning with starvation and hunger. The people scavenged everywhereeating anything edible. The place was turning into a wreck. Water supplieswere running out because the pipes had burst and all the water had leakedinto the abyss.

10 minutes passed and Marlon had an idea; this idea was that they shouldbuild bridges to get to the other side. He chopped a few trees down, carvedthe top off them and slid them over the abyss. That should do it, he said tohimself.

As the villagers of Hobbiton noticed the bridges they all sprinted towards themand grabbed loads of food. All the villagers went back into Hobbiton and had amassive feast.

    The Four Tableteers

This is your captain speaking; we will be landing in approximately 10minutes. Thank you for flying with Fly high Airlines.

Margaret was finally in Rome with her three friends Allan Walker, EmmaWhite and Omar Taaj. Suddenly the automatic doors opened and the Romanwind hit the four friends. They stepped out to the exotic sun, after 10 minutesthey started to sweat. Omar booked a 5 star hotel. When they got to the hotel

they went straight to their rooms and un-packed their suitcases. Once theywere finished they went downstairs, to order their lunch. It came as soon asthey ordered but to their surprise they did not get the burger and chips theyasked for, instead there were four tablets shaped objects.

Omar asked the waiter, Why do we have these small rounded tablets on ourplate? We are not sick you know.

The waiter replied in an Italian accent, The tablets are what you ordered burger and chips.

But we are hungry, said Omar.

These tablets make you full for four hours, replied the Italian waiter.

They taste really nice. said Emma. So did Allan, We love it. Try it Omar.

Margaret was silent for 5 minutes, she was thinking about something.

    What is it Margaret?

Ive had an idea. We could sell these tablets. With Omars business, Allansfastness, Emmas richness and my brain we could be selling these tablets. Sowhat do you say? Should we make it?

    Everyone replied Yes!

They decided to fly back to Britain.

Their business got off to a great start. The money came rolling in but afteronly a week there was a complaint from a famous chef called James Olive.

These tablets are a disgrace to cooking; it destroys the glamour of cooking.James Olive spat while he spoke.

Yes but everyone likes them, replied Margaret trying to be calm.

They had been arguing for the past hour and hadnt got anywhere, when Allanended the argument by saying I have a great idea we should have acompetition to sort this out a cooking one.

Yes replied James Olive as quick as lightning

Err.... Margaret hesitated, and eventually said, Deal

It was the day of the competition and everybody came. The four friendsdecided not to make tablets. They thought there was no point. They decided

to do normal cooking, because the judges were against tablets. Margaretwanted to do the cooking because none of the others knew how to.

Chefs take your positions, said Allan. Allan was on the speakers becausethe usual man was ill.

Margaret was cooking cheesecake with delicious, special Philadelphiacheese. She had researched the judges favourite meal and they all likedcheesecake. James was cooking pasta and creamy pesto with a side order ofbread with balsamic vinegar and olive oil.

Zzzzzzz when the bell went it was time to taste their foods. The judges tooka big bit and chewed.

This is excellent, the judges said to Margaret. We might have a winner, butwe still have James Olive to go.

The judges took a piece of bread and dipped it in the dip. Emmm the breadsoaks up the dip well, one judge said. Another said, This pasta is amazing,so the winner is James Olive.

    Does everything need to go?

Yes said Allan back to Omar in saddened tone.

The four friends were clearing out the tablet factory. Emma looked outside.

Whos that she said. They all turned a man wearing a long overcoat. He wasselling tablets to a young boy. They ran over to him

Hey, they are our tablets! They took his hat off. To their surprise it wasJames Olive. They took him to the authorities and he was sent to prison for 10years.

    A Journey to Space

Amy and Megan were enjoying an early morning swim at their mansion in L.A,when they received a very important text message. They had just been asked,to help in a very important scientific investigation.

Food in L.A was running short and becoming too expensive for people to buy. This was the same across the USA, and even across the world. A new sourceof foods had to be found.

Amy was looking online to see if there were any rockets for rent, and therewere - but only for the price of 550. They realized that they could afford tobuy one - if they paid that amount of money, it would be returned by theinvestigation. The investigation would earn them 780.

The next day a sudden bang was heard from the front lawn. The rocket hadarrived.

It was the moment the girls had been waiting for, and both were in theirspecial space suits and were all ready for BLAST OFF!!!

The time in the rocket made the girls really tired, but they finally arrived inspace and made there way to the space station.

Megan looked at the special space coordinator machine. It told you whichfoods people were not buying, or transporting from different countries. It wasmainly fruit and vegetables. Also, some meats were not being grown andtransported. The only solution was to cut fuel prices so the food from thedifferent countries could be transported more cheaply.

The problem had been solved. Amy and Megan had spoken to the fuelmanagers to put their prices down. All the food was returned to normal prices. They were all ready to go back down to earth, but were not looking forward toa long journey home.

    Little Chef!

Rhianna was sitting at Jacks side in the Hospital while Little Chef is at school. The machines are going Beep beep. She was wondering why he has falleninto a coma.

Rhianna went to pick up Little Chef. I dont know what is wrong with yourDad. I am very worried about him. Little Chef looked worried. Even though heloved his mum dearly he loved his dad even more.

Suddenly Rhianna rushed out of the room. The heart machine had stopped.Jack was dying. Rhianna burst into tears at the fact that Jack was going todie, then there was a burst of hope... there was a heart beating. Jack was nowin a serious coma and was transported to St. Robolain hospital where theyare specialised in serious comas. Rhianna thought back to what hashappened...

Bring! Bring! Thats the alarm I thought to myself, oblivious of the experiencethat lay ahead. I found myself waking up in the middle of the night andstumbling towards the alarm. I switched it off and tried to nod off again and yetfailed. So I turned the 3d platinum television on and lay half awake and to my

amazement I heard that our only food to be consumed, chewing gum, hasbeen contaminated.

Fingers went to the factory and drained the bubble gum into the drain. He hadknowledge of the factory after working there for 6 years. He left because hefound the same job but better money so he took it. He knew how to work themachines or at least he thought he did.... Fingers pushed what he thoughtwas the right buttons but had he made a mistake.... Was that smoke he couldsee?

Fingers coughed, and spluttered and smashed the window to stop the

machines. He decided to start them again this time taking extra care to pressall the right buttons. He set off working them. Next the bubble gum was readyto go to peoples houses. The cars were rushed out of the factory to deliverthe bubble gum. They had bubble gum proof cars robotically engineered.

The Mystery of the Mixed Animals

One beautiful day there was a multi-millionaire farmer called Chris, he ownedthe biggest farm in the world. Chris wanted to make food more exciting and hewanted to give people a much wider choice. He had an amazing idea to mixanimals with his vegetables and fruit with a new machine. So he made a zooand called his brothers Zack, Luka and James and his cousins Sam andHannie and gave them jobs at the zoo. James was in Africa studying when hegot the call so he came as fast as he could.

Chris and his brothers started to make the machine and soon their cousincame and joined them making the machine. The cousins went to the zoo andfound some animals and set up the zoo. The brothers were nearly finishedmaking the machine. They have been working for a long time so they took abreak. Meanwhile Hannie let herself into the machine room curiously.

Looking around she clumsily tripped on wire and pulled out a plug. Suddenlycrazy animals came charging out like hooligans. Animals came charging outlike drunk men. They went mad and broke lots off expensive things andscared people. Luka and Chris went to capture the crazy animals, whilst Zackand James stayed behind to investigate. Luka and Chris tried to lure theanimals back into the field using food. Some hunters were there with dartguns the animals were in great danger.

Suddenly Chris and Luka heard about this and rushed there in action. Theyfollowed the tracks and eventually the animals managed to smell the food andstarted to make their way back in the direction of Chriss farm. About 10minutes later Luka and Chris managed to lure his animals back into their field.

Then all of a sudden the animals went crazy again and started running allover the crops. Then Chris had an idea, Why don't we put the animals in thezoo for a bit? All the brothers nodded.

So the next day they got a massive piece of meat and put it in the zoo. All theanimals ran into the zoo. When the last animal went in the big gates closedand everyone cheered. All the shops were fixed and everyone had a party atChriss house. Even the animals had a party.

And the poor people can use that money!

Thats genius, but your brothers Mark and Marcus will have to come to drivemy boat Megan said. I said, Yes Marcus can come in handy as he is ascientist.

The Quest for the Secret Recipe

It was a quiet and peaceful morning when Dr Gordon Green woke up in adusty and welcoming factory. He sat up scratching his green, crusty beard ashis green hair flopped about. He jumped out of his bed and stumbled downthe stairs.

As he opened the curtains to a beautiful day in Greenotown, a man ran pastwith a bag; he was running at the speed of light, yet Gordon Green wasn't to

notice him he was too busy gazing at the beautiful day. Dr Gordon Greenwalked into his kitchen. He walked towards his old safe in the corner of theroom. Dr Gordon green slowly opened his safe. He was angry, petrified andannoyed to find his recipe was gone.

Dr Gordon green searched top to bottom of his house. He had lookedeverywhere but it was no where to be found. Dr Gordon Green called his sonGary to help, and to bring the tracking device. When Gary arrived Dr GordonGreen said, The good news is that we know where the recipe is the badnews is that its in the heart of Greenotowns volcano.

They set off the following the beep of the tracking device, which got louder

and louder as they moved closer. Then a big shadow clouded the sky, theyslowly gazed up and saw a huge eagle plunge down into the volcano anddisappear. After that it climbed back up and with a familiar bottle in its mouth. It dropped the bottle and Dr Gordon Green, surprisingly, caught it. Theygasped could it be? It was the recipe.

    My recipe!

    Hurray! they thankfully cheered.

    The Recipe Thief

On a warm, busy day in the centre of New York, Lilly was walking down thecramped, loud and massive high street. She was rushing to work. Her spiritshigh, which was not unusual, she walked into her glamorous, clean and sweetsmelling office. Click-clack went her heels on the hard, shiny floor. She satdown on her white leather chair and turned on her computer.

Over 60 emails had been sent since last night. One said they would like to

inspect her first ever healthy cake recipe; the email was from the healthinspectors to make sure they were actually healthy.

Lilly sighed. I thought everyone knows my cakes are healthy! Oh well betterstart replying to that email, she said to herself in her lovely happy voice. Shewent to her drawer where the recipe was, to copy it out in the email. Shewalked closer and reached out, she noticed the lock was unlocked.

I wonder why it is unlocked? Maybe I forget to lock it, silly me!! she said toherself. She opened the drawer, looked in and it WASNT THERE!!!!

She looked all over her office. It was nowhere to be seen. I have turned my

office inside out (literally!), said Lilly angrily (which was not like her). Shewent home that night feeling hopeless and doubtful.

When she got into her modern New York styled flat, her dog Freddie theChihuahua came jumping up at her saying Hello! in a barking way. Lilly satdown on her comfy brown sofa giving Freddie a cuddle it felt good justresting but she couldnt stop thinking about the recipe thief (this is what shecalled it). To make herself better, she rang her dad, Sam.

    Hi Dad, its me Lilly

Oh, hi Lilly I heard about the missing recipe! You poor thing!

Yeah, is it all over the newspapers? Lilly asked curiously.

Yes, and there is another thing about it. In the newspaper...

    Really, what?

It was your brother or your sister?

    No way!

Actually Im busy, but I will see you soon, bye

    Ok bye

Lilly put the phone down with a sigh.

That night Lilly barely touched her spaghetti and tomato sauce; even though itwas warm with squiggly noodles and sweet tomato sauce! It even had herfavourite vegetable, broccoli, on the side. The next morning Lilly woke upmiserable and tired. Her dog looked like he was in the same joyful mood. Aloud, squeaky noise came from outside - it was Sam, her dad. Sam was aPrivate Investigator.

Hi, Lilly he said. Im here about the recipe. I wondered whether there wereany clues that led to the thief. Could I come and have a look?

Oh, yes please do! replied Lilly, I will meet you in my office at 9:30tomorrow morning.

The next morning Sam and Lilly met at her office and searched for someclues. Sam found a ... DIAMOND! Sam said Im sure this is Rihannas Lillysaid.

    No thats different.

So Sam went back to see if there were any more clues He found a watch, which belonged to Craig! He went back (again) and showed Lilly the watchshe had bought for Craigs 18th birthday.

She rushed over to Craigs house... Craig how could you?!

    How could I what?

Lilly went to Rihannas house and Rihanna knew that she had to tell Lilly thetruth but she was reluctant to.

    Rihanna.

    Why? Lilly asked.

dog Chitaro for a walk through the park, on her way back she took a shortcutdown an alleyway. As she passed one of the apartments down the alley, shesaw an unusual machine with a sign printed Emilias Transporter. Nataliefrowned. This must have come from a different world. She hesitated and thenwalked inside...

Natalie opened her eyes. She felt very dizzy and thought she must have fellasleep. She stood up. Chitaro was barking loudly. There was a puff of smokeand a girl with rainbow coloured hair appeared. Oh! Natalie sighed. Myheads spinning. I cant see anything. Then all of a sudden she fainted in thegirls arms.

Beep, beep! Beep, beep! Natalie woke up with a start. She heard somebodylaugh, it was the girl with rainbow coloured hair.

Thats the alarm, she said. Are you any good at cooking? Natalie hesitated.

    Yes.

The girl smiled. My names Emilia, and if youre good at cooking why dontyou make us some lunch?

    Natalie frowned. Lunch?

Emilia smirked. Youve missed breakfast. You slept in.

Natalie sighed. OK, she said carelessly and followed Emilia down to thekitchen. It took a very long time to get there and Natalie had time to lookaround. She didnt even know where she was. Maybe it wasnt such a goodidea to agree with a girl that shed only just met. But despite her cautiousnessshe made a start to one of her special pizzas. She hadnt made one for awhile because of the decrease of food in England but she thought she haddone very well.

Natalie served her pizza. Everybody at the table frowned when they saw it.

    What? Natalie asked.

What is that? Emilia answered worriedly.

Its a pizza. Natalie laughed. You do know what pizza is dont you?

No. It must be an English recipe. Well... I suppose we should try it. Soeveryone took a slice of Natalies famous pizza.

Wow! Emilia explained. This is brilliant. Do you make this all the time?

Not at the moment. England is having a shortage of food. Natalie sighed.

We have lots of seeds in the basement, you can have them on one condition. You give us the pizza recipe. Youll have to use our biggest transporter.

    Natalie looked excited.

    So I can go home?

Of course you can! Emilia laughed joyfully, But first give us the recipe.

    Natalie laughed.

So the next day Natalie went home and saved England.

Throughout the project we have encouraged imaginative thinking as well as athorough understanding of the issues around food science, nutrition, emotion, ethics, and aesthetics.

We have also considered some of the economic and cultural issues andlearned about sustainable development as well as health concerns.

Future food has encouraged the young people to develop personal andlearning skills, such independent enquiry and team working and to becoming
