CULTANA SOLAR FARM The Cultana Solar Farm will be a large-scale solar farm that will generate up to 280 MW of solar energy on vacant land to the north of the Whyalla Steelworks. Once the project has received all necessary approvals, the energy generated will contribute to the national electricity grid via the existing Cultana and Whyalla substations and is part of SIMEC ZEN Energy’s mission to bring change and competition to the wholesale and retail electricity market. Not only will the Project provide direct and indirect employment opportunities in Whyalla, it aims to assist in the transformation of the Whyalla Steelworks by providing cheaper and cleaner energy. CULTANA SOLAR FARM

The Cultana Solar Farm will be a large-scale solar farm that will generate up to 280 MW of solar energy on vacant land to the north of the Whyalla Steelworks.

CommunitySIMEC ZEN Energy plan to undertake comprehensive community engagement to make sure the community is informed and has an opportunity to provide input to the project. The aim is for the Cultana Solar Farm to be a positive and valued development for Whyalla and the wider region.

Community Benefit FundSIMEC ZEN Energy will be establishing a Community Benefit Fund to contribute to local community projects, charities, schools and individuals. Once the fund is set up, applications will be invited to distribute the funds.Please contact the project team for any questions about the community benefit fund.
