Completion of educational events for Primary and Secondary Schools:

On March 13 & 15, educational events took place at the Primary and Secondary schools in the localcommunities of Koufonisia and Donousa Islands. More specifically, at Koufonisi Island, attended the event31 students and at Donoussa Island 25 students.

On May 9 & 10, educational events took place in Primary and Secondary schools in the localcommunities of Herakleia and Schinoussa Islands. In particular, 8 students attended the event atHerakleia Island and 20 students at Schoinousa Island.

Conducting an International Conference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management

International Conference on the SustainableManagement of Solid Waste 6th InternationalConference on Sustainable Solid Waste Management,which took place on the island of Naxos, June 13-16,2018.The main objective of the conference was to address theissues of environmental management and in particularthe sustainable management of solid waste through thepromotion of efficient and innovative technologies. Atthe same time, it aimed at informing both the localcommunity and the scientific community about the latestdevelopments in the field of best environmentalmanagement practices. Completion of events for operators of the prototype Green Kiosks

The training seminars, launched in July 2018, in the framework of the educational andtraining sessions of the project (Action D5 Training Activities- 1st Training seminar: “Trainthe trainees”). The main objective of the events was to train the operators of theprototype Green Kiosks on the operation and maintenance of the Green Kiosk.The events took place as follows:

Training sessions and start-up events of Green Kiosks of the residents at Local Communities of Small Cyclades Islands

In the framework of the implementation of the actions ofinformation and public awareness, in particular of ActionD5 Training Activities and Action D4 InformationCampaigns, the NTUA working group organized the 1stinformation campaign for the start-up the Green Pavilionand the 2nd training seminar for residents in each of thelocal communities implementing the project. Thepurpose of the events was to inform residents about thelaunching of the Green Recycling Materials ManagementPavilions, their training for their proper use and theprocedure to be followed in order to participate activelyin the project. The event was attended by residents andvisitors to the Small Cyclades of the Municipality ofNaxos & Small Cyclades, where the project is beingimplemented. At the same time, the NTUA workinggroup in order to increase the participation of residentsin the project has been given door-to-door personalizedcards for collecting and redeeming points and brochureswith instructions on separating recyclable waste atsource and the overall operation of the recycling system.The NTUA Working Group distributed equipment to atotal of 202 households and businesses in the localcommunities of Koufonisi, Donousa, Schinoussa andIraklia
